Greetings! :D
In this episode of Flying Failures, we return to the UK, and the Armstrong Whitworth AW.55 Apollo, a four-engined turboprop conceived under the Brabazon Committee that would go head-to-head with the Vickers Viscount, or at least it would have done had it been fitted with dedicated powerplants built specially for airliners rather than making do with four under-powered units which had been designed for small single-seat fighters and trainers, leading inevitably to its downfall.
