Pat and I used to go to the same Church. He was always shy and well mannered; but when he got on stage: he would rock out on his bass guitar. He was like a totally different person. I remember before I became a Soldier, when they were "Passerby" and did awesome free performances in the park. Thanking GOD for their success. I don't even know if Pat remembers me; but I miss those guys.

Same... it makes me think of my grandmother who died last November. Suffered six years with dementia. Couldn't even remember her own name. But she had enough awareness to thank God for another day with people who loved her. She didn't know who we were,but she never took us for granted. Never got angry with us,never blamed us for things that never existed going missing. This song is a testament to her patience and the emotions I am still dealing with.

Her headaches constant, increasing in pain with each passing day. She can't even manage to stand on her own it's gotten so bad You think in saying there's no use in praying but still she bows her head so she can say thank you for just one more day Supernatural patience graces her face and her voice never raises all because, of a love, never let go of. Never let go of... He has every reason to throw up his fists in the face of his God who let his mother die Through all the prayers and tears, she still passed in pain anyway You think in saying there's no use in praying but still he bows his head so he can say thank you for ending her pain. Supernatural patience graces his face and his voice never raises. All because, of a love, never let go of Never let go of... He is teaching me what love really means Supernatural patience graces his face and his voice never raises. All because, of a love, never let go of Yes it's supernatural patience. I'm reminded of my father when I listen to this song who died on June 12, 2010. I had a nightmare the night he died, and it's weird because I rarely ever have nightmares. I woke up at about 5 am and I heard my mom crying and saying "He's dead?!" and I asked her what had happened after she got off the phone and she said, "You're father died last night." and I stared at her for about 5 seconds and started crying harder than I've ever cried in my life.

Okay everyone lacey's a Christian, this song is about praying to God and thanking Him for taking their family member's pain away and for answering their prayers it's not about Hindu religion or any other religion it's about praying okay got that through your thick skulls and if you've actually, let me repeat this again and if you've Actually listen or have been to their concerts in the past lacey testifies about being saved and how God changed her life so shut up and just enjoy the freakin song and if this hurt your feelings about whatever other religion you're following I'm sorry I'm not here to judge, I'm just here to explain what their music is actually about.

I think it's a bit more than that. I think this song is about a man losing his mother despite his prayers and faith and he can't understand why a God would take her away. The loss of his mother challenges his faith. He can't understand why a God would make him suffer until he realises how much his mother was suffering.

I may not be religious as much as others but this really opens my mind to it. It makes you wonder about all the things that truly happen. I love how she's making the mother seem so joyed with the fact she gets another chance to live with her son. And even though he is honestly upset with the lord he's still grateful that her pain has ended. It's really a good song and sends a strong message.

to John Ross Star: thats not very nice, although i do understand your frustration with the block Christian quotes. to All: Flyleaf is *not* a Christian Band. they are an *alternative* band (alt=not about drugs/sex/alcohol)
@rosskstar
10 жыл бұрын
Jacob Orr 'not very nice'? I think it's very nice to expose religious falsehoods. And to James Clark; no, all those teachings were part of the great corruption of original Christianity that reached it's crescendo (although by no means done) with Constantine's expropriation of it for the Roman state. The way those verses you quote are translated skews their meaning. Gehenna, the "lake of fire" is a symbolic place referring to everlasting DESTRUCTION, not torment. Christ referred to the actual Valley of Hinnom beside Jerusalem which his listeners were familiar with to illustrate the state of death from which there was no resurrection. They'd toss the bodies of executed criminals along with their trash and kept fires burning to consume it all. Christ always spoke in illustrations his audience was familiar with to drive home the point. Nowhere in the so-called Old Testament do you find any reference to a 'hellfire' and Christ was not introducing a new theological concept. As for the soul, Ezek 18:4 "the soul that is sinning will die", not FRY, but DIE. Eccl. chapter 3 makes it quite clear when we die, we are kaput...finito! If we live again it's by means of the resurrection, a scriptural teaching that would be made vain if your ideas of an immortal soul were true. Yes, everlasting life is a genuine hope but that's living as a HUMAN in flesh and blood, not in Heaven as a spirit although that is a destiny entertained by select few - me not being one of them and that is quite ok by me. Trinity - like the immortal soul and eternal torment, it is also a prominent teaching in most all of Satan's counterfeit world religions. Christ was the firstborn of all creation (Col. chap 1:18 - your bible may have a corrupt translation of this verse). He never claimed to be equal to his father, Jehovah John 1:18. "The Father is greater than i am". Phil 2:6 - to consider himself an equal to God would be usurping a position he did not own (you best refer to the Emphatic Diaglott as many translations screw this verse up too). And really, that's the main crux of Satan's agenda - to alienate people from Jehovah - the real Father. To worship Christ as "Almighty God" is blasphemy. To pray to him as well. We should pray in his name TO Jehovah. But you don't know Jehovah do you?
@FairyMoon1

John RossStar That's nice, but you're just adding gas to the fire, don't you think? If you don't enjoy the meanings of the songs, you don't have to be here. Or, you can take the high road, and just ignore all of this crap. I try to do that, but there are some things I can't ignore. Like this right here. We don't trash talk your religion. Don't try to preach to us.

This song makes me think of praying to God even in pain. Sometimes we lose things and people we love and we should learn how to accept these feelings. God knows what's better to me always. It's not that I can't be sad about anything. I'm a human. But I have a Father who loves me so much and would do 'The Cross Episode' again just to make me free to be with Him. '...He is teaching me what Love really means...'

I was reading this book called Hittite Warrior and it was set during the time of Deborah and the war with the Philistines. At the end he wanted GOD to show him a sign or let him see HIM. But he was disappointed to hear that GOD could not be made into an idol. Later he then knew that GOD did not need to send you a sign and you don't need to see HIM when you worship HIM you can feel HIM and you know when HE touches you. You start to cry, laugh and it feels like a new Peace has entered.
