Very cool looking rig. Thanks for the review! I had a 84' CJ-7 and remember the uproar in some members of Jeep community back in the day about the rectangular headlights. To some, it was sacrilegious to the round headlights. I was too young to understand it all, but recall a lot less Jeep "waves" when I bought a YJ. The YJ featured the 4.0 "High Output" motor as an improvement to the straight 6 cylinder motor from American Motors. This review brought back some old memories and the rectangular headlights don't seem to be so offensive today. This model looks really cool and amazing in scale features. This is an RC I'd keep on the shelf to preserve some history of the Jeep.

The jeep scrambler would have been an amazing choice, but the old wrangler is cool, at least it isn't the ugly modern jeep body. Definitely more model than machine. Not going to be an epic crawler but sure has great details. The body toll gives it a nice scale driving look. The square headlight of the 87' to 95' was an interesting choice I must say.
@Hjerte_Verke
Жыл бұрын
No, the Scrambler has a longer wheelbase and it would be further relegated to a trail truck which is not really where the hobby (rock crawling) is centered. A short standard 81 inch (1/1 CJ5) wheelbase just does it all, while longer vehicles (in the real world) get high centered on rocks and stumps. This also translates to the hobby.

This truck is not 1/10 scale! It’s closer to 1/7 scale. A real YJ has a 93.6 inch wheelbase or 9.3 inch in 1/10 scale this thing has a 13.3 inch wheelbase. It looks cool when it’s sitting by itself but if you put it next to any other 1/10 scale truck on the market it’s going to look goofy and out of place.
@Hjerte_Verke
Жыл бұрын
Fine work, yes it scales to 1/7.1 according to my calculator. The company just makes it to whatever size they want, and then labels it 1/10 to get the most sales, because 1/10 is very well established in the hobby. It's ridiculous because it makes adding details a real challenge (like a winch, tools and a driver figure).

@rcairforceone

It's not even close to 1/10. I think they call it whatever they want to get into the dominant hobby scale. If it was accurately called 1/7 scale (which it is), not as many people would be interested in it because it would be an oddball scale and not similar to other 1/10 trucks. "1/10" is mostly where all the money is.
