Have you ever wondered how First Nations health governance takes place in northern British Columbia? This 6-minute video explains how communities are at the centre of this process and how they are represented on the Northern Regional Table and the Northern First Nations Health Partnership Committee. Community voices are strong and influence health-related decisions locally, regionally, provincially and even federally. Narrated by Sandra Teegee, from Takla Lake, there is a mixture of beautiful live action shots from Treaty 8 territory, Lheidli T’enneh, Wet’suwet’en, Gitxsan and Haida Gwaii. The film shows the faces of the people the First Nations Health Authority serves. Animated infographics help explain how this system works, and the roles of the First Nations Health Council, the First Nations Health Authority and the First Nations Health Directors’ Association.
