The LEMO is a company from France. They have very extensive spectrum of high quality connectors that they produce for different industries. Automotive, aviation, marine, space, military and so on. The most amazing thing I have seen from them are connectors used on submarines that cost 700-800EUR a piece and are certified for use in depth of 3000m.

I listened to the 2022 Utopias recently, wonderful cans. But I tried it on the MHA200, didn't like it as much as solid state DCS LINA Stack (No shit right! LOL). It just dulled it and muffled it. It didn't do that tube magic like it does on the HD800s, which holy fuck did it ever like tubes! Only way to go with those. The one thing I didn't like, the soundstage is pretty narrow. I compared them side by side, both chains had identical sound stage. Although the tube had a bit of an "Illusion" of more sound stage. I legit thought it had more till I did a real close A and B. Probably the frequency response. But if you paid attention, width was identical on both systems. That being said, the depth was really good. Felt like you can reach out forever. I wish I had tried the crossfeed of the LINA to see how it opened up. I know it will never reach HD800s levels, no can does. But it definitely needs more for headphone of this class. All that being said, I think you can fix a large part of the sound stage with something like a Black Ice audio sound stage expander or a crossfeed of some sort. And be in headphone nirvana.

@@ChrisStoneinatorThe Utopia was considered overpriced by audiophiles when it first released in 2015. Considering it’s almost identical design wise to the much, much cheaper Clear and acquiring Beryllium for the driver is not an expensive endeavour, one can arrive at the conclusion that the Lemo connectors are certainly an unnecessary price inflator. Making excuses for an objectively overinflated audio industry is not a good argument.
@ChrisStoneinator
17 күн бұрын
@@shockwave2291 tuning a driver takes a lot of RnD even if the enclosure is fixed. With a somewhat experimental material like Beryllium, even more so. There's not a wealth of experts out there who've designed an undamped high excursion Beryllium driver for a flagship headphone before. The margins have to be inflated based on this and also the small volume of sales. It's easy on KZitem to convince yourself that everyone and their mum has bought these but the fact is that headphones like that have a VERY SMALL addressable market. I'm not saying they aren't overinflated at all. But if it was possible and profitable to develop a headphone that's just as good and undercut it at half the price, everyone would. The fact is that there are SO many companies in this business that competition will constrain pricing. There's not a grand conspiracy among them to mark up all their products by 200%. I'm sure there are some businesses in the industry who would be down for that, but many have too much integrity.

I went from the Clear MGs to the 2022 Utopia. I will say they are better for sure and I am happy with them but with the Clear MGs you are getting 95% of the Utopia. The Utopias seem to have better bass control so when it hits things get less muddy and the vocals seem somewhat more forward. The overall sound profile is very similar mind you it's definitely something that would be worth listening to in person before pulling the trigger. Edit: One really nice thing with the Utopias mind you is that clipping you can get on the Clear MG when really pushing them is no longer a thing and I feel you can push them to whatever sound level is needed.
