Hi all. In this video, we'll show you how not to make a big mistake during a piano performance. It is important not to make big mistakes during the piano performance, and not to make big mistakes. On the flip side, it's a way to keep small failures at bay.
Have you ever made an embarrassing blunder in public performance? I have. I've missed the last chord of a song in a flashy way. Also, in another performance, I got stuck in the middle. When I think about it even now, it hurts.
When you play in front of people, it may be in front of a concert or presentation, in front of a teacher who is taking lessons, or in front of a dear friend or lover, but you are still very nervous. Wouldn't it be nice if we could do something under that tension so that we don't just make small mistakes and make them big failures?
The way to do that is to "concentrate." "What~" I thought now, right? That's why "concentrating" is the most important thing. However, it is a human wonder that no matter how much you tell yourself to "Focus!" during a performance, it does not lead to concentration.
Why is that? "Focus!" and "Calm down!" The word is too vague and not specific. These words rather drive you into a performance that pushes you away.
So, when you feel like you're not concentrating, give yourself specific instructions.
I think that many people become stiff when they are nervous, so let's give yourself instructions that can specifically change the movement of the body, such as "Use your arms abundantly", "Take a deep breath", "Move slowly".
When I'm nervous, I have a habit of squinting my eyes and playing. This often narrows my field of vision and induces mistakes, so I often tell myself, "Open your eyes!!".
The more experience you gain in public play, the more you discover the most effective instructions for yourself, just as I have discovered that "Open Your Eyes!!" works for yourself.
Gaining experience, that means performing in front of people over and over again.
That's why it's important to make small mistakes. It's important to learn from small mistakes and be confident that you won't make big mistakes.
Only you can experience it. I am sure that you are the kind of people who can take on this challenge.
Will you try and learn from your mistakes, or will you fail at the challenge itself? Which of these two choices would you choose? I'm sure you've found the answer yourself.
I couldn't be happier if this video encouraged you to take on challenges with me and learn from small mistakes.
