One of the things that truly impressed me with this bike was the fact that it only retails for $5999 in Australia, I think it’s around $4700usd. I am surprised they can sell these so cheap with all the high end spec.

Hi! Thanks for the review! In one of your comments you said that you had fallen in love with Orbea Occam 2020. Why did you eventually go with this Focus? Did you find any major drawbacks at Occam? I am on a market for something in between 140-150mm travel, but can go with enduro bike - provided that I can pedal it all day long (another Orbea - Rallon - seems to have pretty efficient pedaling).
@FlowmentumMTB

Hey great question, still love the Occam but I couldn’t afford it at the time I needed a new bike, add in the additional cost for the Occam Vs the Focus and it was a no brainer at the time. The Focus is just too darn good in value for money to ignore. Next ride will/should be the Occam. I recently switched to the Focus from the Orbea Rallon and it is indeed a sensational bike in all aspects including its pedalling efficiency’s.. But in the end it was just a little too enduro for SEQ riding, the Focus is fast, zippy, agile and still packs more than enough travel for most every form of riding and trails I ride....

Hi Matt, great review, is the bike good for XC, I mean longer rides, I like to do that from time to time and sometimes trails so I am wondering if it is a good option vs the focus one and one more question is the bike noisy ?
@FlowmentumMTB
3 жыл бұрын
Hey Ricardo. The Jam is not a full on XC bike But it’s also not a full on Enduro/DH bike and that’s why I went for this.. The slightly less aggressive geo makes for an insane pedaling bike while still capable of banging down trails at speed. Also being a 140/140 you are t robbed of any pedaling ability’s either. Only issue you may have is finding one, Focus recently released a new model and the popularity of the one I have is high. As for Noisy, I honestly think think that’s the rider/owners responsibility in regards to maintenance HOWEVER the lower designed seat stays on this does prevent any chain rattle or chain slap. Watch any of my vids and you will notice how and quite and smooth mine is.

@@FlowmentumMTB thank you so much for the quick answer! @@ayala08 appreciate the kind words champ. Thank you soo much. Important to understand that I’m all for the longer slacker geo on bikes but I want to pedal and have a bike that climbs as good as it descends and that’s part of the reason why I went for the Jam. The other reason and just as important is that I cannot sisal highly enough about the F.O.L.D linkage system. It enables the bike to climb line a 100mm travel when pedaling but the additional linkage kicks in on bigger hits and soaks up big hits line id expect from a 160mm. This bike is the best all rounder I’ve ever owned, I just bought a new bike as I’d had the Jam now for over 12 months so I sold it and went abs purchased another Jam haha. You will not be disappointed. Love it if you were willing to show my review to the bikeshop, would be interesting to see how much they agree with my comments. Get out, good luck and enjoy mate 👊

Great review mate, I have just ordered the base model 6.7 nine, first full sus bike so looking forward to something different. Are you still happy with the rear suspension and how it performs? Although the shock is obviously different to yours the FOLD system looks to be the same.
@FlowmentumMTB
4 жыл бұрын
Hey Nathan, great choice and regardless of skill level or ability I’m well above confident that you will absolutely love this bike.. A basic shock will really benefit from the FOLD System.. I recently got the 6.9 29” for my 15yo son and im well impressed... I still have mine and am still absolutely loving it, i recently borrowed a High End USA Made brand ($5000 Frame only) brand with a 150mm rear end and my Jam actually feels more active and took big hits better than the borrowed bike so im certainly sticking with the Jam for a while more.. Value for money is hard to pass up butbthe bonus is just how well the Focus rides, you will have a blast mate.......

Hey Jacob C, I actually went out and purchased that exact model last month for my 15yo son.. The 6.8 Nine is the exact same platform as the one ive reviewed which is simply just amazing. Add the XT groupo and that makes the 6.8 a fantastic bike...

So you have an XL frame size ? How tall are you, how it feels ?
@FlowmentumMTB
4 жыл бұрын
DropBeatsNotBombs yep the XL, the Jam isnt an overly large design and the standover heights are low, im 6foot even and test ride the “L” and i knew it would be more beneficial for jumps, skateparks, street riding etc but the bulk of riding will be tight fast single track with loads of pedalling so the XL was the one I went for. In the end it turned out good as I have no issue at the dirt jumps or street etc and love the XL.

DropBeatsNotBombs yep you should be sweet. There are other brands that I would not consider going XL on as they are too big, reach and stand over but the Jam is conservative in its sizing.
