While Churches are well within their rights to enter the political arena and contest elections, their congregants do not always automatically support them. This is according to political analysts reacting to the decisions by some churches to form political parties, planning to contest 2024's elections.
Members of a breakaway faction of the International Pentecost Holiness Church recently announced plans to contest the poll with their United African Transformation Party. That's despite the departure of Abel Tau, who was one of the senior members to help form the party in 2022.
