I recently bought a big pile of expired photographic paper and all of it appears to be fogged to some degree, so I decided to document my attempts to make this old paper useable again. This is the first part (of what I think will be a four-part series), in which I explain what paper fog is, why it occurs and how it affects your prints - and introduce the first and easiest way you can fight back: restrainer!
