Episode 7
I’m trying to get “Paul Jones”, my 1961 English Folkboat ready for the next sailing season.
In this episode I’ve started fixing things back together.
This involves doing lots of processes that I’ve never done before...
I've been contacted by Dave, who is also working on a Folkboat. He very kindly pointed out that when I trimmed the copper nails I left them a little too long. This can result in the nails bending rather than just the end being rounded over. Movement in the wood can then straighten the nail out and it can become loose. Hopefully this won't be too much of a problem but I'll keep an eye on it once the boat is sailing again and report back...
Dave has a blog about his work... folkboat-journ...
