Thank you for another delightful video. I loved the beach huts, the renovated train station, and the outdoor market where people could watch football. Lovely.

Those houses you showed on the sandgate rd at the beginning of the video, the expensive looking ones, the wooden panelled one is fairly new as a conversion, it was done in the nineties. The very traditional one next to it was home to a lady who died at over a hundred in 2009, she had lived there since her marriage at 19 years old. I lived in Folkestone for 35 years, my parents are still there. The rotunda fun fair was the place to go when I was a teenager followed by chummys fish wagon next to the George in the harbour. Glad you enjoyed your unique trip to Folkestone. Could see my old house from your harbour shot on top of the cliff . Live in Burnley and have been to Ripon a few times, definitely coming for the workhouse museum. Thank you for your content

@@beantravelling oh brilliant, can’t wait ! Thanks for the heads up. Good places to visit round burnley, helmshore textile mill, queens street mill, Pendle heritage centre, gawthoroe and townley halls and of course Haworth near keighley where the Bronte museum is. So much amazing history. Thank you for taking the time to make the videos, I know it takes a long time to edit and put stuff up. Rest assured it is appreciated by those of us who want family friendly content

I think the wild bird was a cormorant? I live in Folkestone and am not aware of any link with Eric Morecambe, or indeed a statue.

I don't know if there is another in the centre of town. But the tracks to the harbour have certainly stopped being used. Still there just filled in on the roads leading to the platform we saw

@@beantravelling the only other stations in Folkestone are the Central station, which is nr Radnor park and the East station which is between Folkestone and Cheriton. The harbour station stopped operating probably at least 20years ago, very nice job theyve done with it since.

The Orient Express was a regular visitor to Folkestone Harbour station taking posh passengers from London to the ferry terminal. Unfortunately it closed about 15 years ago, and the ferries are long gone. Nice what they've done to it and there are ambitious plans for redevelopment along that whole stretch of seafront. There used to be three other stations in the town, East, West and Central. East closed in 1965. The other two are still operating.
