Bolanle Also, what helped me was cleansing once a week and wearing protective hairstyles. Then be patient. I struggle with being patient and that’s where I mess up. Lol.

I have low porosity hair. I wash and deep condition my hair on a weekly basis (I alternate between a moisturising sulfate free shampoo and a cowash). I only use a clarifying shampoo whenever I feel necessary (usually once a month or every 2 months)

I still like weekly washes.
@westafricanbaby
3 жыл бұрын
Oh that’s absolutely fine. There are a lot of people that love weekly washes, especially people with low porosity hair. there’s no problem with it at all especially if you use a moisturizing shampoo. When i made this video, i was mostly keeping in mind the people that are new to natural hair. Weekly washes might be too overwhelming for them or they might use a shampoo that’s too strong so 2 weeks is just like a starting guideline. As they go further in their journey and become more grounded, then they can start doing weekly washes if they want.

Absolutely, if your hair is short, you don’t need sections because there’s a lot less hair to keep track off.

Hi, thank you for so much information. Can I use an eggmask in stead of the deepconditioner?
@westafricanbaby
3 жыл бұрын
The problem with egg masks is that the protein in the egg isn’t hydrolyzed, meaning it’s not tiny enough to pass into the hair strand and strength the hair. It might give a superficial feeling of strength but that’s because the egg forms a film on the hair strand as opposed to actually depositing protein to strength it. I used to do egg masks early in my journey, even made a video on how to do it, until I learned more about the science behind it. If you can find a mask that contains hydrolyzed egg protein then that will be perfect. Naturall Club has some good masks

Do an oil pre-poo treatment first then the shampoo won't be so harsh.
