In this video slide illustrated lecture I present the argument that the EARLIEST Jewish response to the destruction of Jerusalem and its Temple in the summer of 70 CE by the Roman 10th legion is hidden away in the New Testament. Properly speaking, it is not even a "Christian" writing--and needs to be read in its original historical setting around 70 CE.
The text will surprise many of you--but stay with me here. I think I make a good case.
Thanks to the Biblical Archaeology Society for hosting these lectures. I encourage you to explore their web site, subscribe to the Biblical Archaeology Review, as well as the Library--and watch future events! There is no resource like this anywhere for those wanting a historical approach to the Bible and archaeology done in a scientific and responsible way.
