Your mate, like myself, seems to be a big post rock/post punk fan. Love it, excited for the future reactions.

If you care about tension and resolution, strong musicianship and creativity I would check out either Slint (90s post hardcore) or black country new road (modern post rock/punk)

Enjoyed the react video man. Maybe try the Fontaines DC songs Lucid Dream or Boys in the Better land a listen.

What is a televised mind? does it repeat itself? Can it be mundane? Does it hammer home a message? This song was the musical equivalent of a televised mind..the album to hear however is their third one 'skinty fia'..from start to finish the record is sublime. And I'm super hard to please.... if it doesn't give me a new way of listening to music I'm just not interested..I'm 50 now so I'm not wasting time listening to, oh don't get me started. But I first heard skinty fia when I was in hospital for one night (don't stress) after having an internal defibrillator fitted and a few hours on the anaesthetic had worn off totally and I felt sore as hell like someone had used metal tools to open me up then a huge titanium box in my body and then force God knows how much wire (and how they even did it as well) was kinda feeling like someone had been poking around my heart area side. So i asked the doctor for some proper pain killers and not paracetamol. 5 mins late I've no idea how much diamorphine they pump into the catheter but I felt it go along my shoulder into my next one then down my body and into my brain at the same time. Then i listened 1st time to skinty fia and that album and no doubt however much diamorphine hit a sweet spot and every time I hear that album it puts me in a place.. and not generally that one. But it's just sooo good. Not many bands release 3 records and every one is quite a step up from the last one. And these guys are at the beginning. What they could achieve is huge.
