This could have been corny and predictable but they all did a very good job.

What’s truly amazing about Linda is that anyone she teaches sign language to knows almost a complete sentence after the first few minutes of working with her.

Poor Fonzie. He had hundreds of girls at the snap of his fingers, but could never manage a true, lasting relationship without something fucking it up for him. 😢

The part that gets me isn't shown in this, but after she leaves, he almost breaks down doing the "happy birthday" signing.

I love how 1970's and 80's TV heroes could literally do anything. They could dance, sing, do kung fu, surf, ski, mountain climb, anything needed to further a plot. Between The Fonz, Ponch from Chips, and Michael Knight there was nothing that couldn't be accomplished. Add some McGiver action and these guys could freaking go to space. Charles Ingles from Little House on the Prairie was a master of ALL 19th century skills. Dude could build, fix, birth, grow or tend anything that came up, no matter how difficult. Hell, Pa Ingles could do it with a broken back, and Fonzie could do it blind. Fun stuff.

She did a great job of this on Sesame Street. Linda was one of my favourites on that show. Until I read credits one time, I didn't know Linda Bove was on Happy Days.
