Practice track. Elvin Bishop is an American blues and rock guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter. He was born on October 21, 1942, in Glendale, California. Bishop began playing the guitar in his early teens and was inspired by the music of blues legends such as Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf.
In the 1960s, Bishop moved to Chicago and joined the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, which was one of the most influential blues bands of the era. He played guitar on the band's first three albums and contributed to some of their most memorable tracks, including "Born in Chicago" and "Mary, Mary."
After leaving the Paul Butterfield Blues Band in 1968, Bishop formed his own group, the Elvin Bishop Group, and had several hits in the 1970s, including "Fooled Around and Fell in Love" and "Travelin' Shoes." Bishop's music is characterized by his distinctive guitar playing, which combines blues, rock, and country influences.
Over the course of his career, Bishop has released more than 20 albums and has been nominated for several Grammy Awards. He continues to perform and record music to this day.
