Sorry to be a downer. This song is so easy to play and doesn't take much to learn. In C major. Mainly four chords C,Am,F and G are used. Add a fifth chord D7 in the bridge. The lead guitar is literally part of the C major scale. I learned it when I was in primary school aged 10. I really do not know why Hank Marvin is revered so much as a guitarist. Simple tunes simply played. The drummer is basic. Bruce Welch on rythym twangs away on C, Am, F and G. Much of the Shadows music was simple and easy to play. Guitarist of that era like Chet Atkins, Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Chuck Berry, Clapton, Beck, etc were in a different league. Most of the Shadows songs were Grade 3 music level. Basic. Reason why they influenced many up and coming beginners was simply the songs were easy to play and it was a starting point before graduating onto the far more technical stuff like Hendrix etc.

Thank you. I felt the same as you. Watching this, looking at the audience who are clapping on 1&3 (instead of 2&4) then thinking of all the other guitar greats.
@RonMcKenzie-bw7iq

@@stacemantheaceman1501 Yup you are spot on. The only thing about Hank Marvin is that he was the "first". In the UK. But USA guitar bands of the era were far better than Marvin. The Ventures were superior. Scotty Moore who was Elvis' guitarist. James Burton. The guys that backed Bill Haley. Try playing that guitar solo in Rock Around The Clock at the time. I think many people in the UK underestimated how really good these people were. Hank Marvin was no doubt inspired by them because he like all of us had to start somewhere. Good luck and take care.
