"I'm actually very sorry that the Crimean Tatars are known only in terms of Mrs. Jamala and classy cuisine," says the serviceman with the call sign Tataryn. In 2014, he was among the activists who went to the Verkhovna Rada of Crimea to prevent the holding of a referendum by adherents of the "Russian peace". Today he defends Ukraine in the ranks of the Armed Forces.
Did the Crimean Tatars do everything possible to ensure that Crimea remained Ukrainian? What did the Mejlis do and why was it not influential? Why do the Crimean Tatars have national autonomy and what should it look like? And why is there no Crimean Tatar battalion in the Armed Forces?
And also - can Turkey be called the "great father" of the Crimean Tatars?
Watch and listen to the "++ podcast" - a conversation between servicemen Serhiy Hnezdilov and Tataryn.
