Until churches and religious organizations are taxed then they will continuously attract hate-mongering con-artists, grifters, and exploitive parasites... for example all 'Prosperity Gospel' 'churches', Scientology, Jehovah's Witnesses, and every Evangelical Pastor I've ever had the misfortune of listening to. The only 'justification' for their tax-exempt status is their claim to be 'charitable' and their 'promise' to obstain from politics. In the end, they collectively ARE engaging in politics, and waging a war of 'dark money', SuperPACs, and 'Think Tanks' designed to remove everyone else's rights, and subjugate the laws of the country beneath their religions. It's long-since time to start taxing them, and particularly the charlatan 'priests', 'pastors', and 'religious leaders' who are scamming their elderly congregation (often to the point of damage to their health), in order to buy mansions, fleets of luxury cars, and multiple private planes.

The founders were very concerned about this possibility. During arguments codifying the Bill of Rights, a Georgia delegate expressed this concern. "If we list said rights, some fools in the future are going to claim that people are entitled to only those rights enumerated and no others." The framers did not intend to limit out rights to only those enumerated. Further, if you read the draft opinion, it clearly states that court rulings must be based in part on only those things deeply rooted in our history. So, then, slavery is fair game again? How about genocide, like we did to the Native Americans? Inturment camps are now a part of what we consider to be fair game too? And how do we deal with new technology in this narrow minded parameter? Nothing new can, by definition, be deeply rooted in our history. This ruling, if left to stand as is, will send our rights to the ash heap of history.

Normally I wouldn't jump on with leftist alarmism but this is absolutely spot on. The language of that soon-to-be ruling is very deliberate. But also remember, a big reason this is even possible is because of how progressives have been pushing identity politics and agendas. It was a big issue in 2016 and after the DNC cheated Sanders out of the nomination, Hilary's dedicated stance to social justice crazies pushed moderates into voting for Trump. I don't say this to point fingers, but because I've been saying this for years now: the only hope we have in saving this country is to push the crazies out of politics all together. No more "my crazies are better than your crazies", no more "team red/blue! rah ! rah! rah!". We need to wake up. As I've been saying more recently: the reason the right is winning is because they are absolutely correct about the culture war, but they take it too far and plan to take it further; the Reason democrats are winning is because they are absolutely right about economics, but they take it too far by injecting progressive identity politics/ideology into their policy and they too want to take it too far. for decades we've been pandering to the loud, crazy and radical on both sides and it looks like one of them is finally getting what they want which is bad for the rest of us.
@lifestories1446

@@strongwolf8534 well argued, sir! However, the reason Republicans are winning is because Wyoming has as much clout as California does in the senate. Gerrymandering and the Electoral College has created a minority rule in this country. The Republicans have basically rigged the system at this point. Identity politics isn't helping either

@@justbelieve9553 Thanks. The "First They Came..." is from a 1946 confessional prose by German Lutheran pastor Martin Niemoller. But the message, I think is applicable today even if the issue is about something else. The message is about INDIFFERENCE about an injustice perpetrated on others. If we IGNORE the injustice done on others - specially when we know, see, and hear about it - then when our turn comes to be victims of injustice ourselves, we should probably expect that other people will also ignore our plight. As they say: Karma is a b*tch. I really believe that BLACKS, ASIANS, the LGBTQ COMMUNITY and other MINORITY GROUPS should join the protest against this abortion issue AND EVERY ISSUE PERPETRATED BY THE RADICAL EXTREMISTS RIGHT. But if the Left also begins to curtail other people's rights, then, by all means, protest against the Left, too.

Indeed. In fact - If we're coming from a Biblical perspective - According to Genesis, a fully formed body is as no more than dust, up until God breathes into it - the "Breath if Life" , at which point the body-form is enlivened (inhabited ). The fact is that Moralists are merely conjecturing on things they scarcely understand, causing untold suffering through their hubris and ignorance. Ultimately, to each his own, otherwise we needlessly harm one another all the while believing that we are doing God's work. We are not, and the proof is in the fruit such activity bears. If we love babies, wonderful. Once they are born, let us collectively see to it that ours is a society that provide the necessary resources to enrich their lives. Otherwise, let us - please, just stay out of other peoples business, and PROVE to ourselves the veracity of our strongly held beliefs. Romans 14:22 "...Do you have faith? HAVE IT TO YOURSELF before God. Happy is he who does not condemn HIMSELF in what he approves of or disapproves." What little there is on subject of abortion in the Bible hardly substantiates a belief that a fetus, prior to birth, possesses personhood - quite the contrary in fact. Exodus 21:22-25 If I kick your wife in the stomach during a fight with you, aborting the baby, then eye for an eye only applies to injuries to your wife. The abortion is only a fine, in that the fetus is property. Numbers 5:11-31 Abortion as a punishment for adultery. Deuteronomy 28:18-53 Eating your fetus as a punishment. 2 Kings 8:12 burn their cities, crush the heads of their babies and rip open their pregnant women. 2 Kings 15:16 killing all residents and ripping open pregnant women with the sword. Hosea 9:10-16 God will abort your fetus. Hosea 13:16 For rebelling against God, Samaria's people will be killed, their babies will be dashed to death against the ground, and their pregnant women will be ripped open with a sword.

The way they lie to the constituents about Revelations is so cringe. They think the rapture is them being saved but the rapture is literally just the freedom one experiences when they stop worshipping false prophets and gold (aka wealth). I nearly died of laughter (and horror) as I watched them march into a literal plague with their false prophet whilst wearing his logo on their foreheads. They literally do everything Revelations tells them not to do... They think they are saved but they are the ghouls engulfed in sulfur fire with their beast. lol. Oh and the reason Revelations is written in metaphor, I suspect the author feared being executed for speaking out against Nero... That's how it would have been for us if trump had won in 2020. Not surprised SCOTUS is doing this now. It's always been the backup for the attempted coup. The Republicans will stop at nothing for power and they know their grip on it is tanking. It isn't wierd. The human life is the most precious thing that God created. What issue should be more important than this? You don't understand at all how people who are strongly against abortion feel on this issue. You really don't understand. For many true believers, it has absolutely nothing to do with politics, and it isn't a cause that their conscience will ever allow them to ignore. They would feel the same way about walking past an abandoned baby on the road and doing nothing to care for it. Could you just walk past? That's the gravity of the issue for someone who truly believes life starts at conception. Everyone does have freedom of choice, but that doesn't mean all our choices are right. Should I have the right to take someone else's life? This is the fundamental question at the root of the issue not politics.

Abortion was legal and practiced in America by First Nations, then Colonists, before there was a Constitution. It was legal til the 1860's, then restricted but not entirely banned. If it is older than the settling by Pilgrims, and the Constitution, then it seems to me, it's deeply rooted in our history. It's the Evangelicals who are relatively new.
