I'm asian and i'm telling you lippy is talking straight facts. listen to him. a lot of us are successful because we support our own without even thinking about it. we own a shop we hire our own people we need asian food to cook we go to our own people's grocers to buy we need to buy a bottle of coke we go to the corner shop thats owned by our people we need tuition for our kid we send him to a tutor thats our ethnicity we need an accountant / solicitor / lawyer we contact our own people etc etc etc man it goes on we just do it without thinking sometimes

I'm a Somali from Sweden. I hear what Lippy is saying. Success of the community is determined by how self-sufficient the community is and how to serve the surplus to other communities bringing in foreign capital to the community making it wealthier. Jamaicans(taking as an example) within block should connect with fellow countrymen and organise groups that will serve the Jamaican interest. Each community should run like a country. Each member of the community represents the community with integrity and honesty to fellow people and others. 1 pocket wont change shit but 20 pockets with good money management, big things are bound to pop. A butcher, barber, local bossman, landlords, local vendor, taxi company, hair salon, nail salon, all of them can be run by Jamaicans but only if people got organised, putting aside the obsession of being the head huncho and sorting out the wasteful spending. The jamaican potential to reach the masses is immense unseen of any country of that size, both culturally and economically. To build the black economical army, just like any army it needs every community patterned and solid with eachother against our competition.. Somalis has open a bunch of businesses so does Nigerians, Ghanaians, Zimbabweans, Jamaicans, Trinis, Eri we all need to serve our community from top to toe. That's the message I believe Lippy was trying to get across Another thing I want your opinion on is the poverty young black males go through because of weed and other intoxicants. It is a real issue over here in Sweden and I assume you share something similar over there Big up Lippy. Keep spittin that real

Yeah I hear Lippy. Im from a manor over from lippy's so I know exactly what hes talking about. Im from Mozart by the way. Black people are very comfortable being consumers of everything, very few are prepared to go out and do the work to have a business. Lippy said it, a corner shop would be a good business as it has the things that people need rather than things they just want. Serving the community will certainly pay. The drug culture has to end.

27 mins in - Lippy needs to be listened to more... He's speaking the most facts. Black people need to focus on sustainable/necessity businesses in a variety of industries.. not just track suits and caribbean food. Barbers are successful as they're necessities. The US seems to have more universal black businesses in all areas from trucking companies, to garages, accountant firms to salad bars, clubs to everything. We can't limit ourselves to 1 or 2 types of businesses in the UK.

It's because we only support each other when we need each other. We grew up eating our food, only we know how to make it right so we support our restaurants. Barbers, only we know how to cut our hair right so we support. Entertainment, we understand our sense of humor because its our culture, so we support. But the moment its something like clothing or something where we don't necessarily "need" to get it from our own, we ditch our own people.

Watching many podcasts about this topic, from here to America, it seems that when the white man sells something at sky high prices, we happily pay, we believe it has value. If a black business has the same model, we tend to think "fuck dat",........."here what, my mans charging diss, for dat top".......and the like. Who knows, we might just not wanna put money in a next brudda's pocket............without consciously knowing it.

I find it strange that black people have this mentality. Hear me out. I mean, Why only support other black people? What if those black people aren’t good people or people that you would like. Why give them profit? What if you live in a mixed area or white area? Are you not going to shop anywhere then? Be normal. Be hardworking. The opportunities are here in uk. Stop this indirect victim mentality. Indians or Arabs aren’t obsessed like this the way blacks are. Black People have came from Africa with no degree and made it into the political sector in the uk. Just work hard. Simple.

John the title is "do we support black business" NOT "Why only support other black people" we must overstand that black people are the largest consumers but have very little ownership compared to other races but things are changing which is a positive. To answer your question it is important to support black as this means that we are focusing on POWERNOMICS for instance 1 pound only stays in are community 1-3 times if we are lucky, where other races its more like 10 times the pound will circulate. By spending with black businesses we can help aid those businesses grow so they can offer more products at better prices, employee our future generation and help sustain the black economy. I hear what your saying about bad service etc, however I have experiences with bad customer service from all races. if I get bad service from a black business I just explain to them the issues and help them resolve it that way. if they don't , I take my money to else where. However if I am honestIy I don't spend every pound with Black stores because we don't sell everything, but I still try to focus on supporting black businesses for some of the reasons above which I have stated. I get what your saying but thought my insight is very significant. Best thing I do is build relations with black businesses so we vibe of each other and both benefit that way its win win. FOOD FOR THOUGHT if all black people only shopped with us only , many companies would not survive GUCCI, APPLE, NIKE ETC. we are the trend setters and also make things happen with little or no resources, are creative mind is GOD BODY we just need to know are worth and support others to help them find theres. Blessings :)

Leandro Smith 💯 you hit the nail on the head. On top of what you said people often get triggered and start with the “why only support black people” arguement. Then are quick to tell black people pull together and sort out the crime in our communities or to stop complaining and pull themselves up by their boot straps... I wonder what they think that looks like🤔. It seems like this only applies when locking up and demonising black men and women. . I wonder if people who feel like this have considered the positive impact supporting black business would have on the community in regards to crime, unemployment, productive father rates in the community Etc. It seems like they are only thinking of themselves and how they feel and how black people supporting black businesses more might leave them feeling isolated. No matter what we’re wrong lol even when other communities do the exact same thing... there’s a place in London called CHINATOWN.... Why is it called that? Nobody complains about this lol. It’s mad.

i and i are acting like every black person lives in a black area. You should support the community you live in, which includes everyone, not just black people. Arabs and Indians do the same. Also, there is only 1 Chinese area in all of Uk- which is China town. But there are more black areas such as pekham, Brixton, Tottenham and moss side. Stop being a victim.
