I wasn't expecting to learn as much as I did from this video. Had no idea how many parts of this tree were edible! Thanks for sharing the knowledge 🙏🏼

Hell yeee! Has the pine pollen started in your area or has the season passed? a few of the white pines in my neighborhood have the powder coming off but not nearly as much compared to KZitem vids.

I think it's mainly passed over here. The only problem with doing these videos is by the time I edit and upload the videos the thing I'm focusing on has passed.

I regularly make tea with the outer needles. Are they toxic as they age? Also, we have loads of the tiny new cones (2 to 3 " long) falling on our property. The insides are not green. The entire cone is dark brown and hard. I'm assuming there is no benefit to eating these.

ya, no benefit to those. the size when they are edible depends on the species but the timing is usually late winter early spring no matter which species it is. The problem is that they don't usually fall off at that time and a lot of times they are too high up to get.

to clarify, the needles are always edible. I meant to say no benefit to the old mature cones.(unless its a type of pine that produces edible pine nuts)

What about pine nuts from the cones?

most pine cone nuts are too small to make it worth harvesting only a few species worldwide are worth it.

I have a lot of White Pines around my property. I seem to remember somewhere but Native Americans actually use the part, I'm assuming the inner bark, to make flour somehow. Have you ever heard of that?

I know acorn flour, not pine tree flour. I know you can make bacon out of the inner bark they call it tree bacon 😂
