Brilliant Stripey, brought back good memories when we did it. It's a great scramble. We bypassed that down climb. Looked tricky. Easier being roped up. I remember thinking the saddle would be a cracking camp spot. 👌😎
@StripeyHatGuy
Жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot Kev! Yeah it looks definitely more difficult than it is imho. The spot is just outstanding, water, view and a more or less flat camp spot + most of the time it is well sheltered from the east/northeast winds here in Scotland 🧐

Nicely done👍 We took one look at that bad step and immediately said " no".. Went left around the bypass.. Other than than we thought it was a nice easy scramble ..so your brave going down it 👏👍 Great vid.. 👍

Thanks a lot! Yeah you can basically avoid all scrambling if you want on the forcan ridge - pretty nice that you can decide on the level you prefer to hike/scramble. I just loved so much the views from The Saddle with all the layers 🤩

@@StripeyHatGuy yeah its a great wee ridge.. The very first scramble can be avoided with a very steep grass slope on the right hidden around the rocks.. Walkhighlands doesn't mention this . Walkhighlands makes it out to be more difficult than it is 😅

@@itsablack1 yeah absolutely true! Sam and me thought as well that it is rather a 0.5 than a 2 said this the down climb might be a Grade 2…not sure difficult to tell with all these numbers. It is basically a hike with every so often hands on in dry conditions in my eyes.

Looked a bit difficult in parts of the climb and descent. An amazing view where you camped. Looked cold and foggy ( low cloud) in the morning.
@StripeyHatGuy
Жыл бұрын
Hi Grant, Some parts were a bit trickier but they can be avoided if preferred - the views were just outstanding with all the layers in the scenery. The major problem with camping in the cloud is always that it gets wet in the tent, particular with a single wall tent. If we would have camped another day it would have been a good idea to dry our stuff proper out for an hour or so. Thanks a lot for watching! ATB Stripey
