A lot of people that will buy the Bronco really should be heading into the Bronco Sport instead. If you are going off-road on a regular basis, then Bronco because it is an absolute beast. But, for most mons and families, the Bronco Sport does all they need and will do it with more comfort, ease of handling and price. I fall into the latter category. Bronco Sport will get me through the harsh winters and rough roads of West Virginia just fine, but most of the year it is will be joy to drive.
@doubleKlutch
3 жыл бұрын
You're right, the Sport is indeed a bland appliance, just as you describe, and nothing like the name Bronco deserves. Ford has done an excellent job of selling out and diluting their potent brands, just like the "Mustang" Mach E... All to sell the unsuspecting public on image over substance. Why pretend one likes what the Bronco represents, when they could get exactly what they value out of any other existing appliance, like an Escape, Jeep Compass, or something that actually excels at 4-season comfortable road manners: a Subaru? Is it that the Subaru or Escape won't corroborate the illusion that they're a dusty off-road rough-and-tumble cowboy badass? Why would 'most moms' even want a Bronco nameplate if they value comfort and pavement sensibilities? It's all a lie, just like the marketing that spawned this design-by-committee toaster.

You also seem to think that makes me unworthy of God's love, and I disagree. Agree to disagree. Good luck to you and your image purchased.

Yep... learned there were two from the comment section of one of your videos. :) Separate Bronco showrooms? Kinda sounds like a familiar idea, like the separate SS showrooms Chevy tried as well as "Geo," which started out with the previously-Chevy Sprint and Spectrum in their lineup, the separation of RAM (of which I've heard new owners Stellantis might want to fold back into Dodge), and Toyota's abandoned sub-branding of the Prius name. LOVE the Bronco, but all the disappointing fails of my last Ford have soured me from ever buying a new Ford again. My wife's on board with an original Bronco, especially since I could do repairs myself, but I'm not on board with the $50-100K price tag the good ones are wearing these days.
@revmatchtv
3 жыл бұрын
The original ones have skyrocketed in value! I remember the old Geo marketing. I do think it's different this time. Those were vanilla economy cars in a sea of competition. Based on all the forum posts, it seems there is a lot of genuine enthusiam for the Bronco and a massive push from Ford to market it.
@fretless05

The Bronco Sport might be all I "need" in terms of off-road capability, but there's no denying that that big Bronco is far cooler. As fro trims, I would note that the First Edition Bronco Sport is NOT available with the Ford 360+ system, so there are some safety and convenience features you can't get if you have the chance to buy that trim; the Badlands edition can be loaded up to have more features than the First Edition, minus some stickers on the sides- for me, the Badlands is the way to go if you go with the Bronco Sport.

Why wouldn’t you want the more powerful engine in the most off road capable version? It’s quite efficient actually. If you want the 1.5 get a different trim level.
@ldmtag
3 жыл бұрын
@@revmatchtv first is cost. Bigger engine is most probably the more expensive option. Why paying like a $1000 or something more when you don't need that power? Second is tax. I don't know how it's in the US but here in Russia (I know Bronco Sport will probably never be sold here) and I suspect in many other countries too tax is calculated based on the vehicle's power, which means you not only pay more buying the car but also pay more tax every year. Third, inline 4 is such a boring engine option. Most modern cars have an inline 4. 3 cyl is more compact, probably sounds cooler and seems to be a more technologically advanced engine even though the power per liter is about the same. It's just so much fun to realize you have a tiny 3 cylinder under that massive (ok, not so massive) hood. Finally, offroading is never about the speed (unless you do desert jumping, which is not a *real* offroading). It's so cool to have the base engine and all the offroad goodies with those steel wheels - very stylish. Having a beast that can do 0-60 in like 7 seconds pretending to be a cheap UN Land Cruiser inspired offroader is definitely not cool. And 3 cyl engine also goes great with the idea of a small city car, which Bronco Sport sorta is too. The whole point of Bronco Sport is to have best of both worlds and that irreplaceable inine 4 in higher trims compromises that idea.
@revmatchtv
3 жыл бұрын
@@ldmtag Off roading is about torque, not horsepower. If you’re going to be more serious about off roading, the MUCH higher torque has huge benefits when you don’t have a transfer case. In the US, there’s no tax on power or displacement. This is aimed at the North American market. If you want a city car, the other grades offer the 1.5L and and it’s still very capable. It’s very typical for the most powerful engine to be offered in higher models. Every single manufacturer does this. Despite the 5 grades, I see a lot of discussion about it not being enough. At this entry level price point, I don’t see many other manufacturers having so many options, save for Jeep.
