Having a problem getting your lug nuts off with the factory lug wrench ? Are your lug nuts swollen or deformed ? The 2 piece design is the problem which I show you. I changed all of them from a 2 piece nut to solid one piece nut, and you'll see why.
Check your lug nuts now, before you have a flat on the side of the road and can't change your tire because your lug nuts are deformed and the wrench won't fit. .
Check out solid one piece lug nuts at American Truck Products ( about $ 45 ) . worth every penny and only takes about 30 minutes or so to change them out. Do it yourself, as the dealers will charge you $ 10 - 15 PER NUT to replace them.
The factory lug wrench is 13/16". Because they were deformed I had to use a 21 MM socket to get them off. I used a long Torque Wrench set to 150 ftlbs and could get most of them off. I had to use a 3/4" drive socket wrench with a long breaker bar on 7 or 8 of them, as the torque wrench clicked out... which means they were torqued way more than 150 ftlbs by the mechanics. I was able to get them all off by using this method and did NOT have to split them like others have done in other videos
Next time I have tires rotated I will instruct them to use a 13/16" socket (not a 21 mm ) and a torque wrench set to 150ftlbs..
