Heya, a quick question if you don't mind: Is the engine naturally that high-revving and smooth or have you done something to it? I'm just curious since it sounds and revs... pretty darn sweet for such a mundane car. All the econoboxes I've ever driven have had uninspired and sluggish engines that just don't like being pushed a bit whereas this actually revs sorta like a sports car. Very nice!

This engine likes high revs instead the torque at low revs (not to much power under 3000 rpm). and I love high revving :-D (after 4000 rpm it pulls to 6000 rpm) It's more fun to drive and play with gearbox ;-) Since I installed the intake it allows better revving between 6000 and 6600 rpm and less loss of power. But a better sound ! I didn't change camshaft (I thought to it)

Nice drive. Big like! Does the intake really make a difference in power? And you said maximal consumption of your car is higher than before... what is it in liters approximately? Also a nice detail: The door handles from the facelift Fiesta. How much were they? I'd like that in my Fiesta.

Thank you for your comment :-) This intake gives a little bit more torque on low rpms and better power on high rpm (My friend has a K&N Typhoon and he has not difference, only sound) With normal driving, consumption is less than stock because of torque. My maximal consumption on a tank (450km) is approx 7.5L/100km. Handles are stock, not from the facelift ;-) Titanium models after MY2010 have grey door handles ;-)

Oh, I got a 2009 Trend (German model), so I don't even have silver foglamps, they're black. I think I' ll buy that intake, I am just afraid of the noise. I am often driving long distances so it may be disturbing?

If you haven't an modified exhaust, I think it shouldn't be noisy as much. The intake gives a loud engine sound only when you accelerate ;-) On constant speed, it sound as a stock filter

I did some modifications on mine. I changed stock air filter for an intake (j1 automotive intake) and I changed the exhaust too. (Fox Exhaust)

If I drive normal, with these modifications my consumption is less than stock because the car have a little more torque. But if I drive hard, the fuel consumption goes higher than stock ;-)

George Tyrrell Yes it is. You need just tools to cut the stock exhaust and weld the new if you don't want to change exhaust. If it's a catback exhaust just fitting with the OEM screws at the cat.

Hi, I use only 98 or more. Yes with 98, the throttle response is better and slightly more power and with normal driving, less fuel consumption.

Hi, this is bad. Check up if you don't have a leak somewhere... What fuel put on it ? With my Fiesta I did between 150 to 180 km with a quarter. Near 100 - 120 miles with 1/4 of fuel... What use ? city ?

You're welcome mate ! It's depending of what you research. The 1.25 is more reliable, no turbo and 4 cylinders. The ecoboost is more powerful but 3 cylinders and turbo. I drove mine 130.000 km with 4 years, many trackday and acrossed all Europe many times for holidays and never had any issue. Not sure if it will be the same if I had ecoboost.

Le logo fiesta c'est moi qui l'a ajouté c'est normal que personne d'autre l'à :P Pour faire de la longue distance, vaut mieux privilégier les finitions haut de gamme (Titanium, Ghia, Sport) qui sont mieux isolés et avec un équipement plus complet qu'une trend. La mienne est de 2012, finition titanium.

Yes the top speed is true. I did it with GPS on flat highway. It's near 175 km/h tacho but You will be patient ^^ On dowhhill maximal speed I reached is 210 km/h tacho, it's 195 km/h GPS.

albertost1994 Exactly :-D No it isn't illegal. Some parts of highway are limited to 120 km/h and other without speed limits. It's awesome to drive here ! And some guys overtakes you over 250 km/h it's extra !

Mais j'aurais une question, j'hésite entre la 1.4 96 ch et la 1.25 82 ch sachant que la différence de prix est très très minime. Houssem Radius Salut et merci a toi pour ton commentaire ! Prix du neuf i l y avait une grosse différence de prix mais faible en puissance donc il vallait mieux le coup de s'orienter vers le 1.25. Le 1.25 est un bloc costaud et reconnu en fiabilité (prouvé depuis la Fiesta mk4) en consommation je dirais que la 1.4 consommerait un peu plus vu que le bloc est un peu plus gros et il n'a pas bcp plus de couple que le 1.25

1.25 duratec sounds like the 1.6 Ti-VCT. I love this sound. I don't know about reliability of the new ecoboost, if it knows any problems but I know this 1.25 Duratec is since mk4 models and never had problems :-D

I have the 1.25, and so far never gave any problems. It has a nice whine sound in second gear. It's quite sluggish until around 2500 rpm. The Eco boost is faster, but I have never driven one

The sound is great now, but is too loud for my taste. I like the stock sound better because when cruising i can easly put my girlfriend to sleep :D Nice detail putting the fiesta symbol in the dashboard, it looks great!

+Lars Reviews Yes of course it is. You can try one of these how it is. For me, it is one of beste little engines I drove. Good sensations and pleasure with a very good chassis ! Maybe not the most powerful of 1.2cc (the 1.2 tfsi... better power because of turbocharger and better torque but less fun for me) News, I installed Bilstein B14 suspension for better handling ^^

@Tom Jardine I drove my friend Ford Fiesta Metal, this is an awesome car better than the basic sport model. The engine power is 134hp and can rev easy until 7000 rpm ! the sound is pretty good with the stock exhaust but better with Mountune or Mongoose parts.

Yes of course ! With 140.000 km in 4 years every day pushed at limit and many trackdays, never had any issue. But I changed oil every 10.000 km.

Oh my father has the 2012 Megane since brand new and I love how it feels like a microwave on wheels... Everything works like it wasn't connected to the engine or gearbox. Steering is just so light, gears can be changed with your little finger with minimum effort and they will always mesh. 1,6 gasoline "Colour Edition" 110 HP, most powerful petrol one they sold. The Fiesta is just a shopping trolley on wheels (not the Ecoboost ones and the 1,6 Ti, those are fun little cars).

It's petrol engine man, peak torque is at 4200 rpm and peak power 5800 rpm, so N/A engine power is at high revs...

J'ai obtenu ma fiesta 1.25 60hp il y a deux mois :p C'est plus ou moins la même puissance en dessous de 3500 tr/min (Par rapport a la tienne) ,d'ailleurs beaucoup de préjugés a propos de ces modèles qui sont soit disant largués sur les grands axes ahah ! ;) Vu que tu as modifié légèrement ta voiture, je me demandais si tu pouvais me donner quelques renseignements ! Je vais bientot refaire reprogrammer ma Fiesta et apparemment je peux espérer obtenir 92ch ce qui est vraiment très honorable ! Pour enrichir tout ça je pensais au j1 automotive intake pour gagner 3-5ch, mais ce qui me fait un peu peur c'est le bruit.. J'adore le beau son de ton moteur mais comme Cage Maru (dans les commentaires ) je vais être amené a voyager avec ma petite amie qui passe souvent son temps à dormir à bord.. De plus j'écoute énormément de musique et j'ai peur d'être dérangé par le bruit ! Ma question tu l'auras donc compris est : Y a t'il une grosse différence d'intensité du son du moteur entre l'admission de base et celle ci (On se rend pas bien compte du bruit à l'intérieur sur ta vidéo et j'ai cru comprendre que tu avais changé le silencieux , donc c'est trompeur ) Merci !

Salut ! Une reprogrammation pour le 1.25 est un choix judicieux car le moteur est le même mais tout simplement bridé. Pour avoir un meilleur gain lors d'une reprogrammation, il est mieux d'installer d'abord l'admi et ensuite faire la reprog. Pour la reprog, je peux te la conseiller si tu souhaite un bon gain à haut régime. Il est facile de battre cette motorisation lors des accélérations en ligne droite. En revanche, dès qu'il y a des courbes, le châssis de celle-ci a un énorme potentiel. Ayant fait de la compétition automobile, je te confirme qu'elle a un excellent châssis ! Et ce même les versions non sportives. Regarde voir ma vidéo où je frotte les fesses d'une VW Passat TDI, elle confirme tout le potentiel qu'elle a cette petite Fiesta ;-) Le j1 apporte déjà un léger gain par lui même seul. La sonorité grave est uniquement lors des phases d'accélérations. Si tu roule à vitesse constante tu l'entendra pas. Pour ma part, j'ai effectué aussi des longs trajets avec ma Fiesta, avec l'échappement modifié, ça fait un plus fort en permanence mais moi ça ne m'a pas énormément gêné mais peut être que toi oui donc je ne peux pas vraiment te conseiller de changer l'échappement. Pour répondre enfin à ta question, il y a une grosse différence de sonorité entre l'admi de base et le j1 automotive. Dans le début de cette vidéo quand je sors du rond point, c'est le bruit grave de l'admission qu'on entends et non l'échappement.

Hey MrFordiste , merci pour ta réponse ! Oui je pense que la reprog est un must have pour moi , donc ma voiture y aura droit je pense (une fois que la garantie sera terminée) .. Pour l'admi effectivement je me doute bien qu'il est plus sage de faire reprogrammer la voiture après l'avoir installée ! Et vu qu'on parle de 96ch je me suis un peu penché sur la comparaison entre le 1.4 96 et le 1.25 reprogrammée et voici une courbe du 1.4 96 stock : staticclub.caradisiac.com/1/mecanique-technique/br-courbe/photo/hd/9931333993/3949629271/br-courbe-courbe1-4-big.jpg La courbe du 1.4 est certe plus lisse et le pic plus élevé, mais si tu compares avec la courbe que je t'ai envoyée , on a tout de même plus de couple et donc de puissance bas régime avec le 1.25 ! Pour en revenir à ce que tu m'expliquais, c'est sur que le chassis de la fiesta est magnifique et je trouve comme toi qu'il a déja bien l'aspect sport dans les finitions inférieures (Trend pour moi) ! Mais je pense que pour m'amuser ca sera plus de la ligne droite avec des potes :P Donc je perdrai peut être ! Enfin on verra ;) Pour le j1 : Il m'intéresse de plus en plus , principalement pour ses gains , si tu me dis que c'est seulement pendant les accélérations qu'il se fait ressentir je pense que ca peut m'aller ! En fait pour moi l'idéal serait un gain de perf , avec le son rauque du j1 sans l'augmentation de volume ahah ! D'ailleurs , pas de problème avec les forces de l'ordre au niveau du volume du j1 ? Ca reste dans les normes ? Pas de problème au CT ? En tout cas merci pour ta réponse ! :) PS : J'ai regardé la vidéo avec la Passat TDI !

Jean Constantin J'ai déjà été contrôlé par les forces de l'ordre pour test alcoolémie mais ils ne m'ont pas embêté. Du moins je n’accélérait pas fort pour éviter que l'admi s'entende. En revanche une admi n'est pas homologué et de ce fait ne passe pas au CT (sauf si tu connais un bon centre qui pourra le laisser passer)

D'accord , c'est bon a savoir ! De toute façon j'imagine que pour le CT j'ai juste a l'enlever et remettre celui d'origine ! Le j1 automotive est tout de même assez cher , tu l'as eu a bon prix ? Ah et une dernière chose , apparemment il y aurait une sonde de régulation au niveau de l'admi , comment ça marche avec le changement ?

Jean Constantin Oui c'est ce que je vais faire, enlever mes xénon + admi avant de passer au contrôle technique. Mais j'ai le temps c'est dans environ un peu moin de 3 ans. Si tu parles du débitmètre, il est uniquement sur le 1.6 ti vct. Le 1.25 et 1.4 n'ont pas de débitmètre.

I just had to respond as this answer is enormously stupid, the Duratec 16V 1,25 cannot be upgraded because of its natural aspiration and the TSI gasoline turbo-charged engine will give 110 HP chip tuned. ALSO we had a 2014 Ibiza 1,2 TSI 90 HP (technically 85) in my previous job and it drove just so smoothly... Had an enormous kick from zero rpm, just like a powerful turbodiesel and the fiesta... You had to rev its head off just to get mediocre acceleration... I loved the Ibiza. The Fiesta felt terribly underpowered and the Ibiza was pure joy, it felt more powerful than my mk2 Focus 1,6 115 Ti (itself quick enough to match the 320i E46 pre-facelift).

I think this is your second video I watch.. you have to learn how to position your hands on the steerling wheel, never take the left hand to the right side of the steering wheel nor vice-versa when you are making a sudden turn. That is dangerous, you can't control the car so easy if it drifts away. Just a tip

Younger, I did many go-kart races and now I often go on racetracks for trackdays and I know how to drive. I know the basis to race and where to put my hands. 9-15 is the racing position like I do.
