I've driven some exciting - and expensive - hardware on this channel, but what about something that's affordable and offers good value? Say hello to the new Ford Fiesta Trend. It replaces the Zetec and is designed to offer more kit in a more affordable Fiesta package in a bid to make Britain's best-selling car even more appealing.
Priced from £15,995 (3 door), it's able to boast features such as 16" alloys, rear privacy glass, LED daytime running lights, air conditioning, 8" touchscreen with Ford Sync 3, lane keep assist, and front fog lights to name a few.
It's only available with one engine; it's a 1.1 litre naturally aspirated petrol, which offers 85hp, with 108Nm of torque. This power is fed to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox. Performance won't be the main motivator for buying this car, so let me give you the fuel economy instead. On a combined run you're looking at 48.7mpg and the car emits 114g/km of CO2 emissions.
Therefore, it should be cheap to run, and it should be cheap to insure as well, as the Trend sits in insurance group 5E, thanks to the car's lower cost and pint-sized engine. The Trend could well be the perfect car for young drivers, or those looking for a cheap runaround.
