183000 on my 2014 fusion se with lux package and 18 inch rims2.0 engine.. the vep Spanish engine..fwd.. drives perfectly... i have lowered it and have adjustable shock on it now.. sway bars from a energy model( bigger ) and poly bushes on it... handles great... every 6000 miles oil change. full syn oil, every 3 oil changes i drop 4 quarts of trans oil out and replace it.. shifts smoothly... every year new plugs... and cabin filter.. and flush brake fluid.. every 2 years.. engine air filter.. every 60000 miles.. water pump . coolant change.. water pumps on these cars are very cheap...but i work as a classic Italian car tech.. and keep my cars in great shape

Honest question. What’s the justification for changing plugs once a year? I haven’t changed the plugs on my escape in 4 years and it’s still good. Just use platinum or iridium and they will last minimum 60k

@@jackkenny4194 I am a classic Italian car technician, and have the tools , and with 194000 miles on a 10 year old car,19000 miles per year on the plugs,and traveling to Truckee to fly fish every other weekend, up from sea level to 7500 feet , I noticed the plugs getting a little more worn, than my customers plugs on there cars

do you recommend this engine for a college student? I heard about the coolant intrusion leaks. I am wondering if I should get the v6.
@streetfocus4

Every mass produced engine are gonna have some issues, but from what I’ve seen it’s a good reliable engine and cheap to maintain, the v6 isn’t a bad option either. Good choice for college
