@Mike Honcho looks are subjective, too. While I don't exactly love the new look, it isn't ugly to my eyes. That and there is a reason the 6.7 powerstroke is still around 12 years later. Because it is fairly reliable Power plant. That and developing a new diesel engine is expensive in a world that is uncertain if we are gonna be driving ICE cars in the next 20 years.

@@mikehoncho4472 GM trannys don’t last over 100k. I’m a technician for a gmc dealer 🙃 Edit: I know work at a Dodge, Jeep, RAM, Fiat, Chrysler dealership. I work on Cummins everyday only and I’ve only done 1 transmission in the months of august. At GMC I did about 10-15.

The designers of the headlights/grill have a pointer finger “rounding” around their ear. Hideous front end. Almost as bad as the Chevy(not GMC) front ends since 2020.

@@digi3218 Ive never seen a 6.7L PSD break at 70k, at work we just ran 2 past 200K without major issues, 3 are between 160 and 180k and 3 more are at between 60 and 100K and none have broken. All are solid and the few issues they have had have been minor. I personally own a 2012 Raptor with the 6.2L boss engine, it has 184K and it runs like a dream. Ive seen many chevy 5.3L V8s fail before 120K with collapsed lifters and the 6.2L LS Gm engine Ive seen fail with as few as 80-85K miles.

Gmc is primarily a luxury brand. Ford has luxury trucks, but they do not have a true luxury branded truck, as they discontinued that a long time ago. Fords trucks are meant to be work trucks. Gmc can be work trucks, but you never really see that and they know thats not their market. Ford isnt falling behind, these trucks serve 2 different purposes.

GMC became more of a luxury brand in the mid to late 90s before that they where considered for medium/heavy duty use like cab overs and 5500-6500 trucks so no GMC is not primarily a luxury brand they still offer base model work trucks.

@@Timmyval123 platinum is a upper mid level trim. You can option a lariat out like a platinum. The limited is the highest end trim. Platinum is still nice . Of course ford makes luxury trucks and of course gmc makes work trucks. The original poster has no idea what he’s talking about. You can get a gmc base model optioned just like the Chevy base model.

@@BillyBlock17bro the purpose of buying a truck is to have a functional utilitarian vehicle capable of doing various tasks. Need to help someone move? Done. Need to pickup furniture cause you don't want to get shafted by delivery fees? Done. Want to go camping with all your cooking gear, tents, etc? Done. Of course there's an added bonus of aesthetics but go ahead and try doing any of the above with a compact SUV. As for large SUVs, you're essentially buying a pigeonholed truck at that point. Chasis is most likely truck, but unlike a truck you can't remove the camper shell cause it's all part of the body from factory.

At4 really isn’t loaded much. That one is geared more towards competing with the powerwagon or tremor. The Denali and Denali ultimates are way more loaded than a at4 or at4x . I use to do the pre delivery inspections on gmc trucks when I worked for gmc.

I’ll preface this by saying that I’m not brand loyal and currently own a ram. The ford looks better, it has more power, a better drivetrain, and the infotainment system doesn’t freeze constantly like the GM does. He made exactly zero arguments on behalf of the GM. 🤣🤣🤣

GM infotainment doesn't freeze at all, the previous headunits that came in the last 5-10 were slow or delayed. But the ones in the new redesigned truck are super quick, a lot more responsive then ford.

The Ford looks fucking horrible lmao. But I agree, I liked GM trucks for their square/rectangle designs, which peaked in 2016-18. Ford was looking pretty good for 17-22 but did a 180 on the ‘23 to give it the ugliest fascia ever designed on an American truck.

Thats best way I can explain indepedent is whats on all or most RC cars where if you push down the car will push down solid axels wont do that solid axels better for towing

The GMC can do just about everything the Ford can do in the “fields of work”. The design actually warrants its price point as it is a better well rounded premium work truck. It’s undeniably nicer than the Ford. Another FF *Ford fanboy* pissed off reviewers aren’t giving Ford credit for squeezing the most power out of their power plants and reliability suffering because of it solely to win a “power number on paper” war. It’s the same reason y’all are PRESSED GM hasn’t acknowledged the Ford Raptor segment. They built a Cadillac Escalade V instead which Ford can’t compete with. Continuing to be unbothered and paying Ford Raptor complete and utter dust. It’s not about who can produce the most power because if GM wanted to play that game they’d win _it_ too. @G-Rated but yet I had to turn my 2023 gmc 3500 SLE with the integrated pto into my run around truck because it couldn't handle as bad of terrain as my 4 2022 f350's with non high output 6.7s. Ford has proven their use for me and my line of work and chevy/gmc hasn't been able to handle it. I don't care what any chevy tard says the f350 is and always will be the best option unless you're a yuppie crab bucket or a soccer mom

Ok for the last time they both have IFS. Chevy simply has control arm style while Ford has Beam style, and it is definitely true that beam style is more durable. But its still IFS, and both brands have had IFS on their trucks since the 60's.

Meanwhile the control arm style suspension w/cv axels and rubber boots can also be found on a Honda Civic.

@@tarnantula While thats true, solid axle Is traditionally and more accurately an axle on which the two wheels cannot move independently from the other, and in that sense, no modern light duty truck has a solid axle, And they haven't for some time. Not trying to minimize the difference between control arm and Beam style, Beam style is inherently much more durable always has been. All I'm saying is that there is no "Solid axle" on a modern light duty truck, they all have Independent front suspension, the difference is how each brand accomplishes that.

Also please stfu, you have said so much about how solid front axles are bad and why ifs is much better in other comments on the topic. The truth of the matter is ifs rides better while a solid front axle is more durable. Proof of this is that many jeeps and other off-road and heavy duty vehicles of the like, along with military trucks use a solid front axle. That should be reason enough to prove the durability of a solid front axle setup. Ifs is a more comfortable ride, but it is not usually better for heavy duty or off-road conditions unless you are building a prerunner or pulling heavier loads on occasion. But I know you aren't trying to factually argue, you are a gm fanboy that doesn't like when your favorite truck brand is shit on, which is pathetic. Trucks are trucks. Some are better for things that others aren't and that's the way it is. It is pointless to turn the truck world into a dick measuring contest because of brand loyalty and fanboying.

I’ve driven the ford. It has so much torque it’s crazy. It’s fast as hell for a 3500 series. I think it’s faster than my 2020 10 speed 2wd f-150 with a 5.0. It might not be but damn it pulls.

I'm actually going to say they can get 1000 ft lbs but might be limited drive limited. An extra 2 psi would have pushed it past 975 ft lbs of torque but the transmission didn't take it kindly during testing.

The duramax can easily put down 1k torque if it wanted to. A Banks has already tuned/upgraded one with 1300 Hp and 1500 torque.

@@jakefournie5930 ford designed their tranny and gave gm the plans. Gm then changed the pump location to the back and down sized it. A lot of the tranny is similar but gm lightened things up

A solid front axle isn't a disadvantage if it is a heavy duty vehicle. I'm pretty sure they did testing on different suspension setups and found this was just the best design overall (cost, towing capacity, total weight capacity and ride).

The 6.7L is a great engine, has a 2012 that had 200K miles when I traded it for a 2022 also with the 6.7L very strong and reliable engine.

We have all three major brands at work and the Fords are in the shop more than dodge or chevy surprisingly... And it's a fleet of 37 trucks definitely not just a fluke.. started fazing the fords out this year until they fix the stupid issues

The Duramax is significantly more capable then the Powerstroke. A factory internal L5P Duramax can handle over 1000HP. A Powerstroke cannot.

I’m pretty sure the F150’s have IFS in there 4wd models if I’m not mistaken I know my classmate had a 2019 F150 4wd that had IFS Though in heavy duty trucks it’s not so great, yes ride quality is better but that’s not what a heavy duty truck is made for

Not entirely true. GM actually uses a lot of aluminum body panels on their trucks. The bed is still made of steel unless you get the carbon fiber bed but if you destroy that you’ll wish you hadn’t bought it. But aluminum’s way more resistant to corrosion. And the ads gm put out about how much stronger the steel bed it’s were proven by many third parties to be rigged to make the fords bed look a lot more fragile than they actually are .

GMC, the company where there most recent years of trucks are blowing up left & right with tons of other issues, is outdoing Ford, whose only problem is usually technology issues with there recent years of trucks? Not only do you do subpar shorts with lackluster showing of vehicles compared to other vehicle reviewers, you also throw some stupid takes out as well. @Thepedell I absolutely love it. Don't have the space in the garage for a dually but you will be happy for sure. I also don't like chrome so the AT4 was the easiest to delete the remaining chrome. And mine fully loaded was just under 88k.

Why does it look like the GMC has overspray on the control arm? Also I went from a refreshed GM truck to a 2024 F350. Chevy was in the shop for DEF issues and trans issues non stop. Spent close to 3 months in the shop overall. Longest time was 6 weeks. Another thing is the Tan and black lariat option is awesome.
