To Terran698 this is one of the later versions of the model which were supplied with electric start if required, especially if they were export models I believe. And although first produced in the late 1940's continued to the mid to late 1950's.

i'm sure you've already been told but its a pre 1950 tractor (you can tell by the steel wheels and the hand crank start) and to my knowledge they didnt come with electric starters. the handle you see @9:36 sticking off the front of the tractor is how they were started back then, and yes once the motor starts if you dont disengage it the thing swings around and breaks your arm(reason for the engineering to invent electric starters).
@JermainFishwick

terran698 no that is not the reason, the crank shaft hole has 2 teeth like a rachet. same with a starter motor. it trows the crankshaft out. And a starter motor where extra's

The Fordson Major E27N was built from about 1945 to its end in 1952. They had many options including electric start and full lighting. That tractor has 3 point linkage although the arms have been removed you can see the top rock shaft. It is also a late build evident by the down draft carburetor. Early ones had an updraft carburetor. Many had early ones had steel wheels but generaly they had rubber tyres. They were also optioned with a Perkins P6 diesel, and other engines found there way into them. A great and reliable tractor well worth preserving.

+Peter Cobden It doesn't have a battery. It uses a magneto with a hand crank. It also hadn't been sitting there for very long at all. I think the magneto broke and he came back and put another one on it.
