You need to have small versions of the “Foreclosure Pending” sign in the store. I’d buy one. My foreclosure story is buying our current home as a foreclosure before such things were popular. When the kids would want this or that expensive thing, like a boat, they’d get a “dad lecture” about frivolous spending that wound up with “We bought this house as a foreclosure, and I’m not losing it as one!” Yeah, I’m a terrible father. lol

Great story sir! I grew up with a long line of farmers in my family, but unfortunately it stopped with my dad. It didn’t stopped me from visiting my uncle (who took over the family ranch) often. Helping him out over the summer is probably the best way to connect with the ranch and my ancestors.

I think you are 100% right about the "Foreclosure Pending" sign. It would be a reminder to work harder and make good decisions about the ranch. In today's times, a simple illness or a hail storm or a blizzard can affect anyone's life, especially for a rancher or a farmer. Even for people that don't live on a ranch or a farm, the loss of a job can mean a person is forced to sell their home.

Mike and Erin, the "Foreclosure Pending" sign does remind me of a very bad time -- my husband died in 2004 -- we had just built this house in 2000, then a couple of years later, the "real estate bust" occurred and with my husband's final illness expenses, it was a tough time to stay out of foreclosure -- my son and I just didn't give up, and we made it through all of those struggles, and we just keep on keepin' on!

I knew that at first glance.. somehow?.. it tickled me to see the sign, so hopefully everyone gets it too.. there has to be humour in our lives, especially if things get tough like we are all experiencing for these past six months .. the world over! .. keep it up.. add to it ..we get it! Makes us chuckle. Your website is easy to enjoy in so many different, interesting ways.. hope I can come back for new things every week, Wyoming is much like the Canadian prairies, ...your videos seem to “take me home” and I love that! When I caught a glimpse of that sign, I chuckled. As a lifelong farmer/rancher, I saw it as the physical manifestation of what's in the back of your mind everyday. This is NOT the leisurely, bucolic rural life that Hollywood pawns off on society. Yes, it has its beauty and peaceful side, but in order to enjoy those aspects, you have to earn it each and every day. Spend too much of today enjoying what you worked for yesterday, and that sign just might be a reality tomorrow!

Especially now, the sign should be up. With changes to the ranch regarding when to sell off part of the herd, and other changes, it's a good reminder as you said to always put you best foot forward and go at it 100 percent. Gilbert may have had a sense of humor, but it also must have been a great motivational experience for him. When your family and the future depends on the ranch, a bit of reminder each day can't hurt. Great grabber tool. Smart to be at a distance with the long stick when picking up snakes. Gilbert must have been smart as well. The license plate wall is sweet. I do follow several channels and this is the only one that makes the subscribers a part of the channel by posting their plates. (Keep looking for mine) Job well done with this video see you on the next one.

I watched a few more videos today and came across this one. Actually, I was questioning the foreclosure sign the first time I saw it and figured it was more of a motivational tool than anything else. Glad you explained it to us. I have a woodworking shop in my basement and I have CAUTION signs all over the place. I’ve always liked the wall decorations and it’s nice to hear the explanation behind things. I must admit however, that when I initially saw this pop up after opening up KZitem, I felt a few seconds of queasiness in my stomach! As in Iowa farm boy at heart (although 30 years removed from living there), I remember very well the hard times of the late 1970s and early 1980s when there were foreclosures all over the state and a few frustrated/depressed farmers committing suicide. At least one case that I recall was a farmer who committed suicide after murdering his banker. Thankfully, the stagflation of the 1970s and early 80s is long behind us. I still commend my mom and dad for not only surviving those rough financial times but doing so in a way that we didn’t really know that we were poor how close we came to considering bankruptcy and foreclosure as an option!

Erin, NEVER be ashamed of having driven the tractor etc... helping drive tractors and combines during my high school years bought me my first registered quarter horse mare, who won me our 1st all- round everything trophy! And impressed a judge enough that she asked if she could ride my mare on a lunch break...😘🤷♀️😁 And me, I had no idea just how special *that mare really was until 4 years later! When I learned that the tricks we'd been doing at 5 years of age(her's) were Olympic level moves that under the BEST trainers, most horses won't usually learn until the age of 8 or more, yet that mare had learned by 5 years, from a country hick kid who'd read the autobiography of Christolot Boylen once and just tried out what she'd read. I'm no genius of any sort. I simply have a knack that if *I* can understand it, I can generally do, and teach it. To an animal or a person. That is, I have to truly *understand* whatever...it's happened often enough that it's been confirmed by enough people I'm no longer embarrassed to say I possess a certain "gift". One I never asked for, worked for, but was simply blessed with. And therefore, feel driven to use and pass along. I was given this for a *reason*, it's not up to me to decide whether or not to shutter it or use it. So, it gets used whenever and wherever I can help. If someone feels I'm stepping on toes, I'm sorry for that, but not for helping someone else.

I was in a farmers house when I saw a wood carving on the wall that stated "Don't worry, there is always welfare". At the time I was working the appliance repair industry and educated in industrial repair.
