Wow, what a beautiful view. I loved Columbia but Sri Lanka and Pakistan are unbelievably beautiful countries. You 4 make a great group together! Watching the vlogs from Mac and Ali and their different perspectives of Sri Lanka. I’ve said it before but you are one of the most consistent KZitemrs (including the other 3) that I watch. I liked how you looked after Ali!! That’s what mates are for lol! 🙂

One British, one Australian, one Iraqi, one American, what a great combination; I hope that the world can be peaceful as soon as possible, all wars can disappear forever, and let human beings live a happy life; Thank you Harry for taking us to see Sigiriya, only ten people die climbing every year, are you serious or not? Glad to see you guys still alive! You are great and have always cared about Ali, but unfortunately the weather is bad, otherwise the scenery would be even better!

9:35 - yes, Sigiriya was used as a fortress by King Kashyapa around 477AD but Sri Lanka itself is a much older civilization. Even Sigiriya was used by Buddhist monks as a monastery from as early as the 3rd century BC. Human bones that are over 30,000 years old have been found in Sri Lanka, and Sri Lanka has a recorded (meticulously written) history of over 2500 years. 12:12 - I think he said your Sinhalese is very good haha

Hi Harry,......welcome and thank you for giving the world a glimpse of our beautiful island! It's good to be friendly with locals, but 'Machan' is the equivalent to mate or pal, and is said to the male gender only. Also it's not to be used so casually on each and every person who you've only just met..being too familiar if you know what I mean :) Also please try and avoid the use of profanities (Ali) it spoils the otherwise nice video, thanks!

Wikipedia to the rescue: "Sigiriya is considered to be one of the most important urban planning sites of the first millennium, and the site plan is considered very elaborate and imaginative. The plan combined concepts of symmetry and asymmetry to intentionally interlock the man-made geometrical and natural forms of the surroundings. On the west side of the rock lies a park for the royals, laid out on a symmetrical plan; the park contains water-retaining structures, including sophisticated surface/subsurface hydraulic systems, some of which are working today. The south contains a man-made reservoir; these were extensively used from the previous capital of the dry zone of Sri Lanka. Five gates were placed at entrances. The more elaborate western gate is thought to have been reserved for the royals."
