The economic advancement of the Philippines is actually a threat to so many of these guys. They already shun the city girls. So eventually it will be a few province backwaters and slums that still have those women that feel they need a foreigner. Everyone else will be empowered and westernized. You can thank social media, the internet and economic advancement for that.

I'm a white skinned 5'9" Filipino-American living in Cebu for 30 years and I can tell you from experience that most girls don't notice you, ignore you and/or even try to avoid you. If that is the case, we may yet live to see the widespread collapse of societies. What a time to be living, or some such thing. Noticed a dramaic difference in the appearance of women in Cebu (IT Prk) and Bohol, where I live, when I visited last month. Most women in Cebu have shoulder length, or shorter, dyed hair, wear pantsuits, and are aloof acting. In Bohol most women have non-dyed, waist-length, hair, wear shorts or dresses, and are approachable, feminine, and friendly. As a female doctor who worked out there for some time, I ha e started posting on some of the social influencer's comments. Many give a very false view of life out there. The really beautiful women are often picked up by wealthy men. There are some pretty young girls but honestly, don't think they aren't clever enough to work out the kind of money you have in your pocket. The "age gap" has only one advantage to them as a number told me ..... "He die quicker - then I rich widow!" . It never ceases to amaze me, how men will talk of how awful it is to date in the West ... But then date some bar girl whose seen more pricks than a nurse, and who will take every penny. Just be careful!

Most women down under these days seem to have this whole princess complex going on that they think a guy must brake their bank account to show them how wonderful they are, if you stop forking over the cash then you wern't the one. It's so romantic..;( Even if you end up marrying one of these then expect at least a $50K + wedding because that's what they've been told all princess deserve to have. Is there any better way to start your life together than deep in debt for the rest of it? It's only a few hours long for gods sake, & lets not even mention honeymoon. There are countless video's on this topic with women who massively over value themselves & sadly they are the norm these days. From where I sit it seems the same for almost all western countries too. Is it really that surprising that guy just want to simply meet & fall in love without the games and the wallet bending pressure? Is that even love when there selling themselves for a set $$ figure? More like prostitution to me. LOL Bring on the Karen's. Just meeting a normal average girl who likes you for you is almost a thing of the past. These days it's more like buying a car as you must see if your willing to pay the cost of this latest girls over inflated value of herself, either way you are buying a wife pure & simple, ah living the dream, right? If your good looking you may have it a little easier at first & get more than most but you'll still be expected to pay the wedding (or baby)tax just like everyone else. And pay you most defiantly will. Unless your one of the lucky few who met & fell in love as kids & think alike & she has not allowed herself to be polluted by TV & social media(very very rare). Look is it any wonder guys are flocking to places like this that look like something closer to what it should be like?

Now the internet is prevalent almost everywhere in the Philippines as well as smartphones. Young ladies in the Philippines have been westernized to a degree by the availability of internet, and they should be more cautious with the more knowledge that they have. Dating sites are still a good way to filter out the ladies that you meet, but you will never know if they are right for you unless you meet them in person. Keep up the good work Chad....Jim

@@wormer66 I have plenty. And I'm an expert. I'm on my 3rd, that's right, 3rd filipina wife. Right off I'm going to tell you straight, most of the girls are not that good. It's more of a myth that the filipina is so great. Remember, they have a suttle desperation about themselves. It doesn't show, but it's there. Here's something very important to consider. I'm 6 feet, 178 pounds. I first went in the Philippines in 1989 when I was 43. The country is set up for small and short people. Average height of Filipino maybe 5 feet 5. That means small chairs, sometimes no head room. Trust me, you are not going to fit in the back of the Jeepny. You'll have a sore neck. You will stick out like a sore thumb. You'll be easy to pick pocket, especially if you ride the LRT. LRT is a great way to orientate yourself in the city. You better be able to shoot a baseball. Cuz if you roam the barangay, pinoys are going to ask you to shoot the 🏀 ball. I played some games with the local boys. Jokers, but they are good, playing on half crooked hoops. My wife, her cousin Rachel in Canada, is married to a 6 .4 foot guy, and she's 5. 2. My wife now is 5. 5. If we were buddies, I'd just introduce you to some of my wife's relatives and you wouldn't have to vet anyone by yourself. Like I said, I'm on my third. Filipina can rip you off just like any other women. My first wife was an Army brat, second was pen pal or mail order, third I met in person, she worked at a hardware store. Meet in person, no Internet, Internet is just like a meat market, Mail order. People forgot how to be human anymore. If I would do it again, I would take my time, Filipino will try to rush you. First, read up on the geography of the country. History. WW2, Philippine history. Get some maps. Go to a money changer in Ermita. That's where you get the best bang for your buck. Stay in one of the Hotels in that place. It's walking distance to many important historical spots. Most of the chicks there are already taken. Roxas Boulevard is near. It's a good place to get over jet lag. Then choose your Island. Stay away from tourist traps. Boracay. If you have guts, Davao is the best city to visit. I was married at San Pedro Catholic Church. In Davao, find a boarding house to stay at. It's cheaper and you will live in close associations with the local Filipino. That's what I would do. Davao has an assome street market for food. In Davao there's always something to do. Like me, you won't want to leave. I always cried.

Great, great job Chad. I've tried to warn guys going to places like Cebu that many bloggers are giving them a very false view of Cebu. I just posted somewhat recently on another channel giving out very false views to try and warn guys. I've been traveling there for 40 years Chad, I see a huge difference, but it is also social media. Many bloggers give out such a false view there, I am quite surprised why more guys don't come out and say something after going there and being deceived by these bloggers. I don't think many viewers wanted to listen to me and only think I am being a pest, I am so glad someone came along to verify everything I have been saying and is willing to give a much more realistic view. People need to learn many bloggers exaggerate things and sometimes by a large degree in order to get views. And these guys need to be called out for that nonsense. If enough guys call them out it may force them to be more honest and realistic.

As somebody who spent 3 weeks at Seda hotel at Ayala Center Cebu in February, let me qualify what Chad is saying because his commentary is misleading. I was in the mall every day. Yes, there are SOME foreigners there, but if you counted heads, they wouldn't amount to 2% of the foot traffick! The average age of these white guys is old old! Decrepit is a more accurate description. Many can barely walk. I used the dating websites and couldn't keep up with the dating opportunities but this didn't surprise me as I've been coming to the Phils 3-4 times a year since 2004. Chad is right that the 'wow' factor isn't what it used to be. In 2004, scheduling dates from the Peninsula Hotel in Makati was ridiculously easy. Its a little less now but there's still way more than you can handle.

@ottowokeninger9617 There actually now is a global surplus of young men. Some of this is good news and some is terrible news. At birth a baby is naturally slightly more likely to be male (about a 1.05 to 1 ratio). Historically differential child mortality and war would even out the ratio by adulthood. Now improved medical capabilities and a relative absence of great power war has prevented the ratio from evening out due to greater young male survival. Gender-selective abortion in Pakistan, India, and China has also worsened the global gender ratio imbalance. Finally, in western nations women are more likely to be LGBT than men, making the global market even tougher for young straight men.

However; as time went on, and more people flocked here - a greater pool of choices also came with it for the natives. Thus, competition increased. You can still get a very beautiful girl if you're an older gentleman with not much to offer besides money. However; this is an opportunity to improve oneself, instead of lament.

Let what is happening to Dumaguete be a warning to the leaders of other local governments in the Philippines never to allow foreigners to settle in their localities. Most Filipinos, are now exposed abroad I. E. Worked abroad in Dubai, US, UK, Scandinavian countries, etc. We have seen different cultures and traditions. Most are also educated and some became very independent with motto " if men can do it - I can do it better" meaning they do not need a man neither local or foreigner to live a luxurious life. They made it to the top on their own hardwork and sacrifices working abroad. We respect foreigners coming to visit and respecting our culture and that is helping our families who are in need. We do that as well to foreigners who come and visit our country as well as Filipinos like us even if we do not know them - we have in general compassionate and hospitable hearts.

They are different factors you have to take into consideration, when you go to the Philippines, countryside vs the city, westernize-like women vs traditional women, if you're a black man vs being a white man, how you carry yourself and so on. If you're visiting another country, just don't get caught up in the women, but really take time and explore the people, and their culture and have fun. Don't have unrealistic expectations of all eyes on you attitude, be aloof but aware like the locals are. Even if, I was going to the Philippines for love, I wouldn't want to draw attention from many people or the opposite sex to myself. I think that would be overwhelming. To each his own. Peace.

As you say correctly ,just walking down the main road , stop at Starbucks , then at Mc Donalds at a random time of the day is not doing it !!!! Time and locations are clearly the key !!! Plus go in with the locals at markets , at little coffee /food/ all kind of stuff shops and go there same time every day like 4 pm afternoon have a coffee !!! 2 pieces of sweet bread plus a coffee for 50 cents all up !!!!!Sit have a chat go back next day same time , then watch what happens !!! Be nice not staring at the girls , just a smile here and there. In 2 to 3 visits you ll figure out who s interested / curious to chat !!!! From say 6 pm to 11 pm walk along the waterfront promenade ! Stop at a food stall for dinner , again in with the locals , be friendly they love it !! Unless somebody trying to rip you off big time , be respectful , nice and show sense of humour it goes a loooong way !

If you are a foreigner with money. The foreign men have alot of leverage. You just can't be like 70 years old and looking for a 20 year old hottie who is single. If you are around 50 it is realistic to find a 25 year old that is above average in looks. The issue is that these same women will probably be single mothers, or perhaps too skinny, too dark, to chubby by philllipine standards. By american standards she will be attractive. If you are around 35 and have money you got a pick of basically almost anyone you want. The guy he speaks of sounds to me is old and probably overweight and don't keep himself looking nice.

Hello, If significant age differences are the deal breaker, for you, you’re in the wrong country. This is the Philippines, not a western country. I’ve been in a relationship, here in the Philippines for 8 years. She is 35 and I’m 70. We both know this would not work in the USA. I can tell you, western women, are the money grabbers, from the USA. Here you tell them you have, only a very small pension, and most will be happy to be with you! Go ahead and tell that to an American lady. She won’t give you the time of day. My former wife, was a big spender. She was the biggest financial drain, in my life. When we married I provided a condominium in the mountains of Colorado. Soon she wanted a big house. After our divorce, she moved into a house, with 5 bedrooms, 3 car garage, and 3 bathrooms. Within four years the money from the divorce settlement was spent. Here in the Philippines it’s much easier to control the situation. When you get older, maybe you will reconsider the Philippines! Good luck
