Why , it has been a tradition ,and that is the only time of the year People enjoy buying and giving gifts to the Family ,as well as we really celebrate the BIRTH OF CHRIST. The Christmas Trees , ,the colorful Decos , at home and in the Street. The Christmas Carols. The Native Foods , which are sold outside the Church after the Midnight Mass .. In Camarines Sur where I grew up there are Dancers.singing at the same time accompanied by Musicians from the 25th to New Year going from house to house which big Cities dont have .. All in all , there are so many things happening on Christmas time ...

As a Filipino expat living abroad, celebrating Christmas early is my way of coping with this Pandemic. Playing Christmas songs after waking up surely keeps up my spirit to keep going everyday and it also reminds us that there is hope. Christmas and the end of 2020 is coming, this pandemic will end soon too. God bless and keep safe everyone!

FYI, Xmas day was originally a pagan tradition adopted by the Romans to help in converting pagans to Christianity. Just like the Filipinos, these are markers tied to food and harvest. Easter was also an adaptation.

It's great to know the history of the BER months and why Christmas is celebrated this way. P.S. I hope you're preparing the activities for next week. Another storm is expected to lash the BICOL Region and other parts of Luzon. Stay Safe. We can expect the stormy weather to start Sunday. I'm residing in the capital as well. For more info, visit DOST-PAGASA (Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Service Administration) Facebook Page.

That was actually the story for traditional food we have for Chirtmas...But in fact the real reason s is that Filipinos need or take three months to prepare the decorations or buy decorations for 3 months for you know filipinos dont earn that much to buy things in an instant. 2 months for decorations and others like gifts then the salary for december will be for noche buena...Thats 3 months in total..this is the real reason...

HAHAHAH.. "Filipinos love to celebrate"..HAHAHA.. Classic Joke here: That's why when being ask by the Doctor "Do you drink?" Filipino: "Occasionally" which later jokingly associated with idea of an "Occasion", meaning when there is an "Occasion", birthday, death anniversary, fiesta etc. or any Day that Filipinos force to be meaningful. To exaggerate, it is like saying, "Oh, it is Sunny day, Let's Drink and celebrate"! ..
@coleni6037
3 жыл бұрын
Wow.. as a Filipino and I didn’t know the whole history behind it. I’ve always just thought it’s because we like to celebrate but I guess that’s just a small part of the reason why holiday season starts in September. This is awesome.
