Weak hotel security? That was how the stalker of sportscaster Erin Andrews was able to find her hotel rooms (Columbus, OH in February 2008 & Nashville, TN in September 2008). At both hotels, he videotaped her naked without her affirmative or informed knowledge or consent while she was dressing for work. The stalker, Michael David Barrett, disseminated the videos to the Internet during the summer of 2009. He was later arrested for & pled guilty to interstate stalking during the fall of 2009. In March 2010, Barrett was sentenced to two & a half years in prison plus three years probation. In March 2016, Andrews won a civil lawsuit again Barrett & the Nashville Marriott for invasion of privacy, failure to protect privacy, & emotional distress.

It has been almost fifty years since singer Connie Francis was ambushed and savagely sexually assaulted by an unidentified assailant in her hotel room for which she was awarded a $2.5 million lawsuit. In the wake of that case, you would've thought that hotel chains would've wasted no effort in enhancing security at their locations. That's why the very fact that the Erin Andrews case was even able to materialize at all is quite shocking.

That shameful list is longer than most would want to envision. One of the most concrete examples has to be Rodney Alcala. He abducted, sexually assaulted and nearly killed an 8-year-old girl, yet only served little more than one year for child molestation. He went on his merry way to New York to commit more murders. Heck, only a decade after his job on the 8-year-old, not only was he a free man, he even appeared as a contestant on The Dating Game! In the wake of that appearance, he went on to slay several more women plus a 12-year-old girl in the late 1970s in the L.A. area.

So he served “SOME time” for knocking women down in order to take their underwear. A pity it was only “some time”. With a man who behaves like this, there’s really something very very wrong!

That's horrible for a woman to experience. As a child of a single mom I always prayed when I felt danger was possible.

Nowadays, there’s no way one of these programs would describe a video of cross dressing as “disturbing.” Too politically incorrect.

Maybe Jeffrey Gorton’s crimes were crimes of opportunity meaning: Margarette Eby never closed her doors nor she had any curtains in her windows (wrong thing to do); and Nancy Ludwig was easier for him being Nancy a flight attendant and being in a hotel. In addition, both of these ladies resemble one another having both dark hair, about the same height, dark eyes, etc. Mr. Gorton might have been attracted to brunette women, who knows. There was something wrong with this man, he was very weird indeed. I am glad that he will be incarcerated for the rest of his weird and miserable life!!! Continue to Rest in Peace always Margarette and Nancy 🙏🙏!

I have seen this episode on YT a couple of times already. After reviewing the details more closely, I found one of the more notable aspects of this case was the polarization in the ages of both the perpetrator and the victims at the time of the murders. I estimate he would've been in his mid-20s at the time of the first murder, yet the victim was already 55 years old! Then he is pushing 30 when he strikes again. The second victim (Ludwig) is 42 years old. Both victims were quite a few years older than he was. That is why it makes you wonder if he saw something in the victims that reminded of him of someone else. Did they resemble his mother or some other female relative, or did their appearances and/or manner of dress remind him of some other woman from his childhood, such as a schoolteacher, for example? He worked on the property of the first victim. He knew the layout and the ins and out of the residence. In the second murder, he was simply waiting in ambush for a female to come along who fit his 'victim criteria'.

I believe it says in the book, "Blood Justice" that he did not like girls with dark hair. I grew up with this creep from 4th grade on through high school... and this really freaked me out.😢

@@kelliannavan Well, finding out what he became what he did would certainly be unnerving to anybody who worked with him or, as in your case, went to school with him. I'm guessing the Jeffrey Gordon you remembered from your school days was something of an introvert. By chance, dId he ever have a brunette for a teacher who may have been mean to him? When I was in third grade, I was bullied by a kid who went on to become a vicious, hardened criminal. He nearly killed a 90-year-old woman after he burglarized her house! After numerous other offences, he was declared a Dangerous Offender and will likely call his prison cell his final home.
