Sweet!!...NAILED IT!! Im surprised you didnt do a test piece with thinner stock. But it all worked out in the end.

Blimey! Nice one. I wondered how on earth you'd managed that. One day someone will give you a nice simple job.

There's a lot more rotation in the string through the length that's unseen until trying to do it with material that won't twist.

I feel for you mate, it’s difficult getting your head around the next step in the process, especially if it’s new to you, but you managed in the end. Well done

One of the things that kept confusing me was that with my piece of string I was tieing knots in the end so the main length of the string was behind the knot, but with the steel bar the main length was ahead.

@@joeltarrartistblacksmith . It is real artisan stuff you’ve done. I’ve seen a blacksmith do a prussic knot in re-bar and I have managed to repeat it in 2mm silver, but that was hard enough. It’s all in the preparation and not tying your self up in knots (sorry about the pun). It took me three attempts to get it right, but it did work out in the end, I can’t imagine how hard it must be in 12mm or larger steel👍

It's all well and good, but the underside of your anvil hasn't seen a duster in a little while, just saying!! 😉
