Hi, I see in your videos that you use the anvil and hammer less and less. I suppose it is due to your great mastery and obviously also for efficiency, in any case your work is simply wonderful, congratulations. a warm greeting

You should glue a bit of soft felt where the point goes in scabbards to help with rattling. Just needs a small amount so the tip of the sword or knife sticks into it but not very far up to prevent wear on the finish.

Why the scabbard is so thick? Even with leather inside (which is not a good choice IMHO, it will absorb water, deform and may cause rust. I do not think that 15 century scabbards were faced with anything, and earlier they used sheepskin or even otter fur, not leather) you can shave at least 30% of wood without any adverse effect. If it follows the shape of the blade on the outside more closely, with medial ridge, it will look much more elegant. Also you forget to carve slight recess for the chape - yours is a bit on massive side and sticks out. Masking it with black leather stripes is not the best solution. Check the scabbard of "sword of the connetable de France" in Paris army museum (inv J 26). Not only it is one of the best preserved 15 c scabbard but (unlike Munich type XX scabbard which is definitely better) it is on standalone display, you can walk around and see backside of the scabbard with stitching etc :)

Always hypnotising to watch These Videos. All your pieces are well made. You motivate me to at least try doing a scabbard myself. Have a decent knowledge of woodworking but Lack a lot in leatherworking. What kind of "band" are you using to sew the leather on the Outsider? Is it more stabile than normal clothstring? Keep Up your wonderful Work really appreciatr every Video from you. Greetings from Germany.

A powerful and long sword swung from horseback. Room for two hands when it’s time to go to ground. Magnificent piece. The chappe is a really nice touch.

It's interesting that your using waxed cotton thread which was unheard of in my great great grandfathers day in silesian. MY Great Great Grandfather was swordsmith armourer blacksmith and he used to stitch the leather together wet with damp leather thread and between it and the glue as it dried It would stretch and stick very tight.
