I was just watching a New Fly Fisher video pursuing northern Ontario brook trout and the host spoke highly of the Joe's Panther streamer, which he said was his father's favorite brook trout fly going back to the 1960s and host has caught fish with it from Labrador to Argentina. Thank you for sharing the pattern here, I'll give it a try fishing the Lake Superior tribs for resident brookies and coasters.

My name is Joe, and I drink too much coffee But I can't watch enough streamer videos. Good find Matt. Yes, sort of Alexander-ish. Yellow dyed grizzly for the Panther's body hackle and some orange fibers for the tail and the same for a throat would make a good perch imitation. One I like even more is the Frenzy. Tied as a wet fly, like McPhail did, it's a good perch fry imitation. He has a good technique for tying the peacock sword wing too. Thanks Matt!

Yes! I do that too Ricky!! But when it looks like a cool one that I might actually want a hard copy, I'll search used on Amazon or Ebay. Sometimes Abe Books has some hard-to-find ones as well. One other way to find cool books is to look in the back of a modern book, like any of Mike Valla's, and he might have hundreds of books in his bibliography.
