whenever I listen to one of Yoko Kanno piece I get the feeling that she has become omniscient and has seen the beginning and the end of the world, like doctor who. there is always this vibe of bittersweet disillusion and newly-found peace in knowing how things will go that makes me cry every time. she digs into your soul and looks through it, then puts your vulnerable side on paper and plays it. at this point, I don't think she's human. she must be some kind of entity that materialised here, and we are lucky to be alive to witness such grandeur.

Who knows? Maybe there are already many non-humans in this fallen planet. Some are exceptional musicians, some scientists, some poets and writers, some of them world leaders and politicians. Most will not remember their true identity after being born into the human flesh and mind (maybe except a few rare ones such as Jesus, Buddha etc). But not every one of them is selfless and loving, though. There are also infinitely selfish, non-human souls, that can create massive chaos and suffering in the world. With a type of creativity and obsessive willpower and determination, that most "normal" people will never understand. Their designated task is to manipulate and severely intensify the selfishness, hidden deep within the normal people of earth. Such as how Hitler made use of the German people's need for a scapegoat to blame and criticize, in order to attain power and turn the wheels of human fate towards world war 2. Or people like Rasputin who secretly influenced Russia towards a darker fate, and could not die easily even after being poisoned or shot.

On the original soundtrack of "Nobunaga's Ambition - Houden" from 1992 this song is called Forgotten Hero, but on the "30th Year Anniversary Collection" this song name changed to "Unrecognized Genius Reprise", maybe this was a translation mistake or a adaptation from the original name in japanese, anyway this is my favourite song from Yoko Kanno !, if you haven't listen to the original version I highly recomend it !

This song is a orchestral reissue of the soundtrack of the game "Nobunaga's Ambition - Haouden" from 1992, but the name of this song probably was a translation adaptation or a translation mistake from the original name in japanese, at least that's my theory, on the original soundtrack from 1992 this song is called "Forgotten Hero Reprise" but on the "Nobunaga's Ambition - 30th year anniversary Collection" the name of this song change to "Unrecognized Genius Reprise", but the Hero or Genius of the song is Nobunaga :)

I'm pretty sure that have the original from the "Haouden" soundtrack and another from the "30th anniversary collection", one is called "Forgotten Hero" and another "Unrecognized Genius", both names are probably adaptations from the original name in japanese but both are correct :)
