I always loved listening to Sam Wyche. He seemed like such a good guy. “You don’t live in Cleveland!!! You live in Cincinnati!!!” 😂👍🏻

I miss that guy. He created Joe Montana's approach, coached the Bengals, and those Buccaneers, and still the best ever.

Wow. Sam got the story completely wrong. The dropped interception was not at the last drive. That happened at the beginning of the 4th quarter just before Jerry Rice’s touchdown catch. The Bengals had no chance of stopping Joe in that last drive. Only a penalty against Randy Cross which put the 49ers at a 2nd down and 20 could have derailed that final drive. But the Bengals couldn’t even take advantage of the penalty. Montana, Rice and Craig were just too much for them in that final drive.

Sam just tells it like it is. I hated him as a coach, but as a man he was okay with me. Sorry to see he passed away a couple of days ago.

Sam needs to come back to the Bengals. Never has a franchise ever been in such disrepair.

@@rawn4203 - Yes, he was. He won Super Bowls with three different QB’s. He has just as many Super Bowl wins as Bill Walsh.

@@johnbrowntheprophet Tell me all the hall of famers gibbs drafted - you know like a montana, rice or lott. Tell me the offensive approach Gibbs invented that is used today. Compare the coaching tree of gibbs to walsh. Tell me how many 1 loss (non strike) seasons Gibbs had. Yes gibbs won as many supers as walsh did but he also lost one in pretty embarrassing fashion, walsh never lost a super bowl. And the 1989 9ers were pretty much built entirely by walsh. He all but won the super bowl with that team which he retired from.

@@rawn4203 - Gibbs drafted tons of great players. The problem is that you’re now comparing them as GM’s not as coaches. I’m comparing them simply as coaches. You forget that Bill Walsh was removed as GM by Jerry DeBartolo, so apparently he wasn’t all that great as a GM. What offensive approach did Gibbs invent? Have you heard of the H-back? He invented that. He also popularized the usage of the one-back set with three wide receivers. While he wasn’t the pioneer or the first coach to do it, he was the trend setter when it came to using one-back formations and three wide receiver sets. Bill Walsh was his own biggest fan. He would have some people believe that he created bread, water, and the wheel if they let him. And so what if Gibbs lost one Super Bowl? He went to *FOUR* of them. That, in and of itself, is amazing.
