Mr. Fashola was deflecting a majority of the questions with his excellent oratory skills. He fails to address the issues headlong, rather he employs the use of shiny grammar to evade the questions. He uses whataboutism and false premises to dance around the questions. No wahala sha. It was an enjoyable conversation. Entertaining. Na we mess up.

Is this what you think of all political figures or is there a public figure that doesn't fit this mold. One that is different
@AdeAde-q7v

@Aro_Gidigba Should we start with all of his assets, including cash? In his 8 years as a governor and other years as a minister, his salaries minus his expenditures should not be up to 2 billion naira. Where is wealth come from, if not from corruption and theiving from the treasury.

Shut the fuck up! Every journalist has a duty to prod public servants for answers however deem fit; within the ambits of journalistic code of conduct & ethics. People who hold or have held political power should not be cuddled or treated like celebrities especially when the conversation is about their charge public servants. When you're in charge of making/implementing policies that will affect the lives of millions, do not expect to be interviewed with smiles, especially when you have barely made a dent to the problems in the areas you oversee. Except you're on Mr BRFs payroll, try and get your head out of his arse.

Adesuwa, hmmm. Are you satisfied with the answers in general? I think his Excellency is excellently politically diplomatic. I love that. However, it is clear that the hyperbole is a clever way to cover for strangulating concerns of the average Nigerian. Nobody cares about good intentions, or sweating efforts, people want results. And results are possible if the leadership is about the concerns of the people. Have our leaders REALLY shown leadership?

I wonder why good people should ever bother going into politics; especially giving our level of understanding of what it takes to build a great nation. No matter how well intentioned one is or how well one performs, it’s most likely not to be enough for objective appraisal by the populace. Until we have enough critical mass of economically strong and independent individuals who can thrive regardless of the quality of political leadership, we can never build self-sufficient communities. And without such communities, most Nigerians will continue to expect from the political class what they are incapable of. I remain hopeful that the critical mass of economically strong individuals required to kick-off the revolution will manifest in our lifetime.

BRF is an excellent defender of the status quo - always masterfully deflects from any change to the order of things from which he has benefitted so much. His 'you were not born then' and 'you are out of your depth' quips were irritating. I now have more understanding as to why this political leader who promised so much, that some of us thought he would make a good President, did not meet expectations especially when he held portfolios at the national level. Whenever I listen to BRF these days, there is this feeling of an anticlimax. And that is a shame because, much like the Nigerian story, he could have done so much better.
