I am from the Sacramento area and I just happened to bump into Bill in the store yesterday. We were the only two customers there and we had a little small talk, we were both wearing our coronavirus mask so I didn't know who he was at first. But we made I contact and I asked if he was Bill Cartwright and he said yes. He attended Elk Grove High and I attended Burbank, we had James Donaldson as our center, and Bill would school him. But Bill is a really nice person, we talked a little and went our separate ways. It was really good to see him move around so well, great guy!!!

The Bulls team members always say nice things about Cartwright, Kerr, and even Pippin. They all acknowledge that MJ was a great player, but not necessarily a great person. While I can Appreciate Jordan’s talent, I cannot dismiss MJ’s disrespectful actions towards his teammates and those who helped his career. The truth has a way of showing the light. His teammates (Pippin, Hodges, Grant etc. ) are starting to tell their story about the last dance. He was a tyrant and chose the game over everything, including his family, those who considered him a friend, managers, other NBA Players etc.

This was such a great interview. What Bill said about the Bulls oweing the Pistons a lot overcoming them & the Pistons having to go thru the same process against the Lakers is the beauty of competition. Makes you and challenges you to be the best. That's why Durant/Lebron and the new generation failed at. Especially that OKC team with Durant, Harden, Westbrook & Ibaka. Imagine the rivalry Warriors and Thunder could have had for years to come! Instead he joined them.

Well I’m watching this 3 years late. I’m coming off listening to the MJ The Life book by Lazenby. I don’t see what all the fuss is about or this “The Last Dance” fallout. Ya know with players feeling misrepresented or slighted by this doc series. To me thanks to Mike’s awesome play and of course OF COURSE the outstanding addition of other pretty terrific players. And Bill is definitely one of’em. Idk the me The Last Dance shined a light on the whole. Certainly not as much as Michael. I’ll say this talk about underrated Bulls. I say Bill is maybe the most underrated. Because of how the team worked and the changing of the game ya know Chicago never needed a strong center from 92 onward. But they sure as H did from 89-91 and Bill was that guy. Bill was a fundamental part in standing up and defeating those thugs in Detroit. Bringing in Bill I think was one of the best moves Krause made. Bill was that tough veteran the Bulls needed. But Mike was the man. We all know that.

The fact is that you don't get anywhere all by yourself. I loved those years of the Bulls fighting to the top. I think Bill is looking at life for all that it is, not through rose-colored glasses that you tinted yourself. It was amazing how the Chicago Bull's "teams" were put together each of those years. Jordan didn't get there on his own and I was not there in the locker room or at their practices, but life teaches us along the way that some things are just what they are no matter when or who is playing the game. I have worked with guys like Jordan. Amazing people, some of them would tell you they were all that because of them only. That is always crap and always makes me suspect of what they are not telling you. I loved watching every Bulls player at that time. It always bothered me when Jordan was crying about something and he was always crying about something. Rules of the game were obviously changed for him. If you watched the game, Jordan fouled a lot and cried when the ref didn't call it and he cried when he wasn't really fouled and the ref didn't call it. He even winded when things did go his way. These were all men. The best at what they did. I just don't believe they saw MJ as he is portrayed then or now. I'm am probably a bit older than most people reading this. I remember Dr. J. He did not complain and wine like Jordan did and still does and Dr. J changed the game and led the way for Jordan and how Jordan played.

I've always said, the best Bulls squad was 1992. Not 1996. Game 6 of the 92 finals proved it with Jordan sitting on the bench. I remember watching that game.. MJ hypocritically complained about the high salary's of other players. His Nike endorsement was paying him royally so he could afford to not press mgmt to be the highest paid player based on his on court performance. Teams used this as leverage to suppress other players salary demands/requests. Chiding them for asking for more money that what MJ was making when they weren't performing better than MJ. MJ knew what they were doing and never said a mumbling word. MJ is a company and league man. He was highly skilled. Improved his game over the years. Brought his A game or close to it night in and night out. Was the guy folk came to see -- not Pippen, Grant, Longley, etc. Bill Russell accomplished more and wasn't an a-hole to his teammates. Giving MJ a pass for his narcissistic behavior makes most folk enablers. He wasn't a good teammate. Many have said so and others have witnessed it. There are better examples of winners in sports that parents can point out as potential role models. Character should count and making winning supreme to everyting else is the best path to the top.
