I think it’s really important to listen to Taylor’s music as a girl dad. She has lots of songs about different things obviously, but she writes so eloquently about the female experience and what it is to be a woman in a world that isn’t always the kindest to us. Listen to her songs through that lens and really take them in, and I truly believe your daughters will thank you for it as they grow up.

The fact that this is 100% self written and Taylor was only 18 or 19 years old when she wrote it just proves she’s has always been an amazing songwriter. She writes all her music but Speak Now album is 100% self written, her entire discography in my opinion is such a beautiful representation of her life but at the same time so relatable, and resonates with people. She’s an amazing, talented, singer, songwriter. storyteller, director, down to earth, beautiful human being ❤

Contrary to popular belief, dude it is very normal to cry to Taylor swift songs. Shes written so many of the saddest songs ik, some I cant listen to at all just bc of how much they hit me. She writes so much more than just break up songs, infact there are many songs like these that hit so hard. Ronan is one of the songs I cant bring myself to listen to anymore, neither can I listen to Soon you'll get better. Some songs I do recommend tho are: -Best day -Seven -Innocent -Forever Winter -Last kiss -Safe and Sound -You're On You're Own Kid Some of my favourites at the moment and ig guess based on this video these may be some you'd like. But if you want to go really country in terms of Taylor Swift: -Mean -No body, no crime -I Bet You Think About Me -Pretty much anything from Fearless and her debut album is just pure country.

The first few verses of this song were apparently inspired by Taylor's goddaughter. I think she was 18 or 19 then and these were all the feelings that came up. It comes full circle of her experiences after she grows up (although shes still probably a teenager at the time). This song is a tear jerker, and if you're a parent its probably gonna hit you even more cuz you may feel this way about your kids too...

Check out her live performance of Wildest Dreams at the Grammy Museum - it's just her and a guitar. Or, Out of the Woods from the same series. Fyi, Taylor has written every song on every one of her albums. With and without collaborators but the impetus is always from her - her experiences, her ideas, her lyrics, her music. How people contribute, if they do at all is helping her achieve the sound she's going for. Everyone in the business knows it's mostly Taylor. However, back when she was the youngest person to ever win a Grammy for Album of the Year for Fearless while she was still in high school many people refused to believe she was this talented. "There's no way an 18 year old pulled her weight in those writing sessions". To prove them wrong, she wrote her next album Speak Now alone. She is the only person credited with writing lyrics and music on all the songs. That's not to say she didn't have sound engineers and producers. She wrote Never Grow Up at 18 and it's on the Speak Now album. She is an incredible songwriter and storyteller. Her music has only gotten better and better. ALL her albums since Fearless were better. Honestly, they all deserved a Grammy. Speak Now was better than Fearless, and Red was better than Speak Now. She won several Grammies for 1989, including Album of the Year for the second time. Lover and Reputation were phenomenal. She won A of the Y for Folklore for the third time. Some people think Evermore was as good if not better. Midnights is more experimental. It's not my favourite but I still like it. Some people think it's some of her best work.

Such a talented songwriter, storyteller, musician, she is calling the shots when it comes to production, she is the one bringing the stuff to the producers when it’s usually the other way around. Unlike most pop stars she doesn’t have people writing songs for her or a team of 50 people behind her. I loved your reaction though. It's such a beautiful lullaby. I have only heard it once before this reaction and watching you feel exactly the emotions she is trying to evoke was just as beautiful to me. I love how art, (in the traditional sense of sketches, painting, sculpture AND architecture literature, theatre, music), can be interpreted in many ways. I watched a video from a few years ago in which she said that's exactly what she wants now. Previously during the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th albums, - especially with Red, (4th album), when "who is this diss track aimed at", and the rumours of her sexuality questions, were around it did seem to upset her, feeling she was being "slut shamed", and sent a message on social media asking fans to stop the rumours about her "dating her [female], friends". But now she simply says that she writes about her life which is never going to change, and although she knows who or what she is writing about, she now wants people to apply the songs to whatever the fans find relatable in them. That jumped into my mind, when you showed photos of your beautiful family. For me...circumstances unfortunately are different from my life goals, but I had a similar reaction as you did. Thanks for sharing your honest opinions and emotions. 🤗
