Our DS came in hammered at 2 am one time, kicked some guy off of his bed (I guess because he was snoring?), yelled “SHUT THE FUCK UP”, and then left. I was on fire guard. No idea why he did that, but it was honestly hilarious.

05:30 wake up? I just graduated from Fort Benning one month ago and our first call was at 04:30. Although we only had one day where our drill sergeants woke us up. It was day one where they came in with trash can lids banging on them and air horns like this. We just had our fire guard wake us up at 04:30 every morning. Whoever was last fire guard shift from 03:00-0:430 would turn the lights on every morning.

yeah same if we were doing ruck marches, we would wake up at 0300 or 0330. Although the day our graduation ceremony happened for some good forsaken reason, we had to wake up at 0230 and the ceremony was not until 0900. We literally sat around for about 2 hours when we got to the Infantry Museum, until we did our final rehearsal. That was our earliest for waking up was graduation day.
