We recently were inadvertently routed through Pittsburgh via the Fort Pitt Tunnel, having never been to Pittsburgh before. This video does not truly do the view justice. It’s more spectacular in person. My spontaneous response upon exiting the tunnel was “Boom! There it is!” Mind blown. The best city view in the USA, and I have traveled all over. If you ever drive to Pittsburgh, especially if you have never been, do arrange your route so that you approach the city through the Fort Pitt tunnel. Completely worth the extra miles to catch that view for the first time.

Go up on top of Mount Washington, on Grandview Avenue, & check out the view of the city from one of the overlooks. Plenty of parking & a great view that includes PNC Park, Heinz Field, the 3 rivers, the city & quite the view from on top. It's beautiful day or night.
