Fort Worden Historical State Park was constructed between 1898-1917 and together with Fort Flagler and Fort Casey, comprised Washington's coastal defense system known as the "Triangle of Fire". Fort Worden features more than 2 miles of beach front and high bluffs with great views of Strait of San Juan de Fuca.
Exploring this area, you get to not only see many coastal defense batteries, you also get to explore the Point Wilson lighthouse, Victorian-era officers' homes, the Puget Sound Coast Artillery Museum and the Marine Science Center. You get to walk, paddle or kayak 2 miles of saltwater coastline and you learn the fascinating history of our defense system for World Wars 1 and 2.
A Discover Pass is needed to enter the state park.
