Awesome man. That’s a great find. I’ve never been lucky enough to find anything when I go. I suspect in my earlier trips I probably did but just didn’t know it then

Never pick out of a cliff like that. Thats how u get a cliff to fall on u. Thats also why they have no trespassing signs

That’s awesome I bet there’s cool seashells in Indonesia. I have a friend from Singapore but he had to stay in America after coronavirus because they wouldn’t let him come back

My kids founds two Meg teeth on that first beach about a year ago. Nice spot, we also struck out at Calvert Cliffs, bit of a hike for often crowded over combed beach

Story: I’ve been living in MD/PA for 38 years and never knew that they have a “state fossil”, but I absolutely love seashelling, rockhounding and am fascinated with fossils. Last year while staying in Utah a few months, I found an amazing looking shell online and bought 3 without knowing the name. Turns out according to you and this park chart, they are all this shell, the “MD State Fossil”, but are there modern specimens too? These are all whole specimens and very heavy/tough-feeling. I should’ve paid attention to whom I bought them from.

That’s a cool story I sadly they went extinct. I talk about them in further detail in my video called “ every murex Shell in eastern America” it’s really cool that you have complete ones

@@shellexpedition2013 They seem to be darker than they likely were originally, and a little bit stoney in texture, like a satin surface. They aren’t gray at all like many of the fossilized shells from Hutchinson Island, FL, they are browner. I wish I had them with me, but when I retrieve them from Utah where I left some of my things, maybe I’ll try to get a picture of them for you if possible. I may have screenshot a description of them from whomever I purchased them. It was probably either ebay or etsy. I really want to try my hand at finding one myself! I’ll look up your video about them. I live a few hours from the MD coast, just far enough for it to be hard to get down there. But I’m planning of going at some point.

is it really a mile from the parking lot to the beach? Did you want to call the shell "ecphora"

1.8 miles and yeah I didn’t know how to pronounce it at that time. Thank you 🙏
