That sounds fantastic. I played Eric's Blackie in the 1980s, he used our rehearsal facility at Shepperton studio's UK, as did many other top artists like the Stones and Black Sabbath. My friend was his guit tech (for over 30 years) and asked me to play a guitar whilst he messed with a guitar synth (after rehearsals) that Roland had given Eric. He passed me Blackie and plugged it up. Some awful noises were happening and couldn't appreciate its real sound, but I was totally lost and on cloud 9. The set up was just spectacular and seemed to play itself, didn't need my right hand. Then I realised his 59 LP Burst was there amongst the 10 guitars sitting in a semi circle, so HAD to play that too. I was extremely fortunate✌️🇬🇧

I have a 2021 Squire stop tail. It is thin and it is cheap and I LOVE it! Don't get me wrong, I love tremolo.....but there is just something special about a stop tail. I should put new pickups and new tuners, but I didn't. I just did a set up and worked the frets and fingerboard, and I put a small pin-up sticker on it. Boom!!!!

Dave's Guitar Shop '57 Strat in in Taos Turquoise has the desert sand primer coat that you can see. Clapton's body was '56 with '56 plastics, which is why his knobs and covers are still white. Yours appears to have the newer formulation covers (probably with more butadiene in the ABS mix) and leftover "'56" knobs. There was a Strat featured on Norman's Rare Guitars channel recently with the same thing.

Looking forward to your album, I hope the album is not overly worked and processed and allows for the true tone and sounds of your playing and guitars/vintage amps to come through as they do on your You Tube video's. From my point of view some of the best albums I have heard are the ones that have been recorded with a raw live feel; mainly recorded with room mics. For example the latest ZZ Top album called RAW.

Most try to focus on the high tones too much and do what the Hair metal/Voltage Metal bands of the 1980's did with a Strat or Ibanez take on the Strat when they used one trying to do a poor mimic on the Eddy Van Halen sound without the mods needed for his sound.

A friend of mine has a refin Black 57. One of the best sounding Strats I’ve ever played. I wanted to tell you, another friend that I’ve lost touch with had a 1958 Pink Sunburst Strat, (he moved back to Chicago years ago). It was a special order from Fender a girl originally ordered. About the ugliest finish I ever saw. It was black on the outside edge, then went to pink and then white in the center. It was one of a kind and I’m sure it would be worth a fortune now. He bought it in the late 70’s real cheap, I think $500 back then. I was a Vintage Guitar Dealer so I’ve had many pre-CBS Strats. I have a few vintage Strats left but I’m not in such great health and don’t Gig or perform anymore. I enjoy your shows and your equip. We’re on the same page.
