Maybe the day to celebrate Australia is the day it was literally first put on the map, by two Australians, Bungaree and Matthew Flinders (with able support from Trim the cat) September 8th 1803 was the day our country was finally mapped as an island continent, and it was Flinders who first suggested the name "Australia".
