I used to wear makeup, everything is so different now. I quit wearing makeup when I was about 37 & that was almost 20 years ago. Everything has changed, not just my physical appearance but the Cosmetic industry as well. Angie you are the best on KZitem that I have found, no disrespect to the other ladies but the way you wear test & show the makeup in different settings is for me what makes you the best reviewer of these items. I watch your channel because you are better than a commercial. You test the product & not just try to "sell" it. I just want to say, thank you💖...

Beverly Collins I agree, she is a gem when it comes to testing out products and I have used so many of her Angie-approved products with great results. I mix her with Wayne Goss and you actually don’t need more youtubers than those two. You get the best product reviews and the «how to» from Wayne. They both changed my life literally. ❤️

@@mykingdomforahorse9256 No. Angie is the one who told me about Timeless, the Ordinary, & CeraVe. Had I not watched her videos I would never have known about some of these products or purchased them at my local drugstore. I never would have thought to purchase the Australian Gold sunscreen. To me Angie is more than talk about makeup, she is also about skin care. 🌹

emm forrest Angie does not only make makeup videoes. She does skincare both by professionals and what you can do at home. She reviews skin care devices, and do outfits too. She is also entertaining, so even if she reviews a lipstick but I allready found my holy grail of lipstick that I wouldn’t change out, I still watch her - for entertainment too. Long days, linked to the bed for two years, she is a gem and brightens up my day.

Thanks Angie for another great foundation review! My skin is same as yours...56 years old and still fairly oily, so your reviews really pertain to me personally. One question I have is how to determine which primer to use with each foundation. A video on this would be great! Also maybe a list that we can refer to when selecting one of the foundations you recommend. I really appreciate all the time and effort you put into helping us all look and feel great...have a great weekend!

Joan Martin, You may or may not appreciate my opinion, but I thought I'd share my thoughts with you. I've tried SO MANY primers, including the ones Angie uses, and I have yet to find one that makes any difference. I apply my foundation over top of my all-mineral sunscreen, and it looks beautiful. Adding a primer on top of the sunscreen makes no difference for me. I think a lot depends on your skin type, texture, type of foundation you use, and personal preferences. I don't think there's a "one size fits all" primer out there. I also don't think you need a separate primer for each foundation you use. That would be expensive!! I think you just have to try a few (or more) and see if they work for you. I know a lot of people love the Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer, and I did try it, and did end up buying a bottle, but it sat in my drawer unused. I guess I'm just not convinced that primers make my foundation look or perform any better. Ir's not worth the added expense, and I also don't like the extra layer on my skin. The only way to really know is to try them yourself. What works foe one doesn't always work for another. Everyone is different! I hope this helps! : )

I recently read that if the foundation is water based, you should use a water based primer. I think primers can be so confusing.

Michelle Kelly...thank you for your comments. I have not worn primer in the past, but recently had a basal cell carcinoma cut from my face so I now have a 1” vertical scar right under my right eye. I am hoping the primer will help to disguise it.
@michellekelly2937
6 жыл бұрын
You're welcome, Joan. My sister had one of those removed last year. She didn't think it was anything and was shocked when the test results came back. Thankfully, it's nothing to be worried about. I, personally, don't think a primer would help camouflage the scar. You'd be better off using something like the DERMABLEND Quick Fix Concealer Stick or maybe the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer (I have not tried it). You want a concealer with a more opaque coverage that you can tap over top to conceal the scar until it heals. Just make sure it matches your skin tone perfectly. It should disappear into your skin when blended. Apply in a thin layer, being careful not to apply it too thick because this will only make it more noticeable. Because you're using a more opaque concealer, you shouldn't need to use much. Set with a small amount of powder. : )

This is so TRUE!!! I barely wore any makeup until I turned 40. Just some powder, mascara and lipstick. I mostly concentrated on skincare rather than makeup because I have horrible dark circles under my eyes and no makeup made that look better so why bother? But with aging, I have lost the good skin I used to have and need to cover capillaries, age spots, and my moon pores!! I do wish I had played with makeup more when I was younger because people are not forgiving of makeup mistakes at 40 as they were at 14. Angie- I have followed all your get ready with me videos and learned so much of my makeup application techniques from you.

When I started watching, I found myself wondering if you were using a filter, although I know you don't. That's how good I thought that foundation looked on camera. I even liked the way it looked after it had worn off some. In my 60s, I can't bring myself to wear foundation that looks like foundation, and reject immediately anything that highlights texture, so this is very intriguing! Thanks much for the excellent review.

I think I'll try this one, just for a change of drugstore foundations (bored with the others). I've been wondering about how your hair would look if you try using some styling product on wet hair, then putting it in a loose bun tucking the tail into the 2nd twist, let dry, then scrunch (no brush) and let it hang naturally with the curl and how you like it... Also, I want to post a picture on Instagram so you can see my hair using the last drops of conditioner from the Caviar product. I think this stuff might be a holy grail for me. I used only a couple sprays of their volume spray, no blow dryer, no heat, nothing... that's what I like doing to my hair, nothing! LOL. fyi... I played around with the purple in the Vault as well. xo

Hi! May I suggest you apply foundations on your chest as well as your face? Reason: Your chest is similar to most 50+ year old faces with spots/freckles as opposed to your face that is red, yes but has little blemishes due to your previous treatments (fraxile). Your face does not match your body in regard to spots/freckles/blemishes. Please apply foundations to you chest or forearm as well as your face to compare coverages. Thank you!

I cannot wait until you test the new foundation from Revlon "Candid", it comes housed in the same type of tube package with a pump like It Cosmetics CC Cream, only it is only .75oz, but at 10.99 who's complaining! It is on Ulta now, the general release is October 8th, and the shading on the Ulta Website is kind of distorting, because they all look like shades for medium olive to deep skin tones!

Hi Angie, very helpful review. Since I was the one that commented originally about doing the flash test in a darkened room, I wanted to suggest that you perhaps try the flash test, if possible, in a full-length body shot or with several people with you in the picture. That is how you see if there is flashback, because when it happens, you can really tell. When it happened to me, I was with friends at a Sotheby's dinner at a dark restaurant and we were being photographed "red carpet style" by a society photographer with a powerful, gigantic flash. That is when my Smashbox CC spf 30 and my HD powders made my face look ghostly while my lovely friends looked normal (handsome). It's the only time I have ever had it be an issue. I think the YT beauty community makes a bigger deal out of it, along with the mythical palette mirror "blinding you" nonsense, than is really warranted. Nobody uses flash taking pics with their friends anymore, do they? Non-flash pics, even at night, always look so much better! (And btw, palette mirrors have never "blinded" me, even when the YTer holds the biggest mirror up for minutes right into the view -- all that happens is you get to see their lighting, camera set-up & whatever mess is back there which is probably what the YTer who invented the "blinding" issue wanted to prevent.

Good Afternoon Beautiful ☀️, Speaking of humidity-Your hair looks adorable with curls! I had surgery last Tuesday and I missed you Angie! You really look great in this makeup 💄. But, I was wondering what your thoughts were on the best eyeshadow palette 🎨 for Fall for blue eyes? Your eyes are so pretty💋 Thank You Angie, you’re the best! Frizzy in Michigan, actually not today, ~~Kimberly xoxo 😘
