You just boosted my GMing by a 10 fold! Thank you so much for 4:48... I CAN USE STAIRS NOW!!! I want to add I'm using terrain wall for cavern walls to and put two of them around the whole room. It allows to show the walls and prevent peaking corners you wouldn't otherwise be able to see around.

I've been delving into Foundry for about a week now, getting bewildered by how complex it is (and often not very user-friendly). Tutorials on youtube are often not helpful at all, way too complicated, poorly narrated, too long-just a mess. But this one is by far the best I've seen yet. Simple, clear, focused, just all around great tips. Thank you, you've earned my sub for sure!

When chaining walls, I’ve found I often end up with two nodes very close to where I click. Instead of “left clicking”, I’ll left click, move my mouse, release the click, move my mouse, click, move, release, move, click, move... I’ve found this to work much better. The alt click I didn’t know. That one I’m gonna have to try soon!

Only thing I can suggest is that you put a list of timestamps in the description so that when I return here to try out these tips and need a refresher, I can find it easier :)

Excellent set of tips. Is there someway to see what the sub-grid is? Is there someway to move one of the "end-points" and have both the segments move? I'm finding I have to move one segment, and then reconnect the other segment
@unsolublefoundry
Жыл бұрын
You can't *see* the subgrid in core, but you can learn more about how it's segmented here: foundryvtt.com/article/walls/ Moving an entire segment is something that might be doable with a module; you could search for "walls" in the module browser, or ask in #module-discussion on the discord.

really cool stuff. if you make more videos like this, can you please clean your mic audio? you can do this by exporting it into a program like audacity, selecting an area of "Dead Air", using there noise reduction tool and then using it again on the entire audio to remove this bad audio. its works pretty well in my opinion and I have been using it for years

So how do you do to align walls and grid in a more square map. I'm having issues with a maze where one corner is "perfectly" align (by myself) with the grid but the further I go the walls of the maze just go all over the place and I'm just loosing it
@unsolublefoundry

At 4:52 he talks about terrain walls but he means normal walls.
@unsolublefoundry
3 жыл бұрын
Those are actually terrain walls in that example - the ones that are crossing between the cave walls in that corridor. They're providing segmented reveals of the map, as you cross each one's threshold (because you can see through a single terrain wall segment, but you can't see through two).
@Medik_0001
